Also, where did their excitement go? It's like they are on heavy barbiturates. This was a ****ing war the fans were super excited about, and they made it look like some cold domination of Marquez. But that's nothing compared to last week, they made Martinez' likely KO of the decade sound like if they were commentating curling or continents moving.

Larry Merchant has been horrible for years, but last night he showed a lack of class, professionalism and humanity that was shocking even for him. Merchant should have gone years ago and at the least owes Katsidis an apology.

Bernstein has always been my favorite.

:deal I agree, Bernstein is class. Always calls it fairly and actually offers insight in a fight.

The Showtime guys are pretty bad. I don't mind Merchant. He's drunk, knowledgeable, and having a good time. The Ward-Bika fight was painful. I'm surprised more people aren't discussing the hometown scorecards Ward was granted on Saturday. If I were Abraham, I would not even consider fighting Ward in Oakland.

It does seem that the Showtime crew is more enjoyable to listen to lately, although I still believe that Kellerman and B. Papa are still enthusiastic.

HBO is pitiful. Showtime is so much better.

I just watched it an expected something much worse. Katsidis actually said before Merchant's question that he went through a lot lately and almost broke down in tears there. I think Larry's touching on the subject was inevitable, and Michael was always going to overcome with emotions. Even warriors cry, and what a great guy he is! I'm glad he was given a chance to say a few words on his brother, and when his voice went away, HBO had no choice to cut the interview, it was basically over. Larry could've said a few kind words on air but thanked him anyway and gave him a warm pat on he back as Katsidis turned away. Both Larry and Lampley (HBO's own emotional wreck) were moved by Katsidis' emotions. (Lampley BTW reminds me of Crying Freeman. Is it just me or is he always about to broke down in tears at the end of telecasts? Watched JMM-Diaz II lately and saw that there and before too. Weird.)

Thats probably the worst thing about alot of commentating teams these days, they just suck the passion out of a fight. HBO just don't seem to get excited anymore the way TV Azteca, the Japs or even say Bob Sheridan do. **** commentating can really ruin a fight for me.
