The look on Larry Merchant's face was priceless during the post fight interview. He was pissed. After Floyd won, notice the language. Merchant mentioned that "the good ones" close the show. This is just an example of the disrespect. If Hatton would have knocked out Mayweather he would have said "the great ones". If Kellerman was there he would have given Floyd his just due. Hatton isn't a bum or overrated, he had me a little nervous as the fight was happening. He simply got beat by a greater fighter and it shouldn't be downplayed by the HBO team. Total disrespect to an artist, but its no suprise just me giving my opinion.

I wasn't impressed with Merchant either. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there is a line between that and disrespect. After that performance, Floyd deserved some respect.

HBO Commentating usually sucks. Merchant is always drunk and biased, Manny always "knew that was gonna happen" and is biased, and Lampley is enthusiastic but he needs glasses and is also biased. They all hate PBF and none of them seem to ever enjoy a tactical fight.

Bernstein is the best BY FAR! It's not even close. Too bad he works for Showtime and doesn't get as many big fights to work. He is unbiased, and talks intelligently about the fight at-hand. Great insight and boxing knowledge - the best by far of all other announcers.

The problem with Kellerman is that he gushes on about EVERYONE!!!!! It doesn't mean much when you are sucking every winning fighters ass out there. Just my opinion but Max is the worst commentator/Analyst I have seen or heard on TV or radio EVER! The local high school sports announcers are better than Max. Or at least they don't have such an annoying voice, and little to no perspective when looking at a live event.

Whatever man Larry is the man. He thinks like alot of the population does. Floyd is just not his style and is very boring. If Floyd had been fighting a true WW do you think he woulda knocked him out or even attempted to. HELL NO he woulda ran as usual. HEy if Collazo a feather fisted fighter knocked Hatton down and alsmost out dont you think Mayweather was supposed to trade and knock Hatton out. WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THIS MAKES FLOYD GREAT. he was supposed to win!! we all knew that. its that 24/7 show thats supposed to make the fight seem even to get idiots to purchase the PPV and make them think Hatton had a chance.

Harold Lederman needs to go. His score cards are terrible as of lately. It's almost like he decideds who's going to win the round before it even starts. Like he flips a coin or something. He used to be much better. I blame his **** poor scorecards for why some people on this board thought Hatton won alot more round than he actually did.

Larry's getting old... damn old, ..but I'll miss him when Kellerman's on all the time.
Letterman scorecard is starting to get a little off... but could be worse I suppose.

Larry is getting old. You'll miss him when he's gone.

I thought the HBO team did a good job last night. It was a physical fight and Floyd was pushed in a way he hasn't been in a long time, and that made the scene suspenseful. Every time Hatton went to the body, you at least could think that maybe, just maybe, he'd find the same spot he did on Castillo.

And it seemed to me that Floyd got plenty of respect after the fight. They were honest about Hatton's chances, leaving the hype to 24/7 and sticking to basic journalistic credo on TV.

I agree that Manny has become full of himself. He needs to tone it down a bit. Part of me thinks Lampley enjoys mentioning Taylor/Pavlik at every opportunity. He talks about it two or three times each telecast.

I hate waiting ten minutes for Merchant to finish a sentence. A couple people watching the fight with me (girls that don't even follow boxing at all) even thought he was pretty bad....and that was without me even saying that I thought he was crap. Might be time for him to call it.....

i think u can nitpick any announce crew but it seems they dont really want to admit floyd is a "great fighter". I am far from a Floyd fan and love manny steward, but steward kept saying he was only good. that is foolish, floyd is a great fighter and proved it saturday.

merchant and lamps seem to really dislike flashy fighters, the eptiome of money mayweather and toney, and love 'vanilla' or low-key fighters like Wlad

leddermen seems like he is one step away from the nut house :nut
