You act like they aren't brothers or something. Vitali has no claim to the title. To be honest... Chagaev should be ranked over Vitali at the moment, and I am a big Vitali fan. I am just being realistic. He beat Sanders, Johnson, and Williams... retired for 4 years... and has come back to beat an already beaten by Wlad Peter and Gomez. How on earth does that stop Wlad from being the real Champ. Everyone goes by Ring Mag these days and as has ALWAYS been the rule, the #1 and #3 can also fight for the true Heavyweight Championship. Chagaev should be ranked #2 anyways. Vitali just honestly hasn't done enough in 5 years to leap frog him.

People may believe that they are the two best heavyweights in the world. However, that doesn't mean that Wlad isn't the True Champion.

Some station had better get it agreed upon and start getting it advertised and rolling, cause its only two weeks away.

If Showtime was smart, they would've had the fight signed yesterday and would announce it during the Strikeforce event. Strikeforce is going to bring in a BIG BIG audience and Showtime should use it properly.

    I doubt it though.

i honestly now believe if wlad beats chags and is wba champ. the klitschko bros dream is done. they would own all titles. im expectin vitali to retire as champ after one more fight and let his brother fight for the vacated wbc title. :bbb:D

How in the name of God should Chagaev be ranked over Vitali. He's done even less that Vitali in the last couple years.

1 and 3 is for "certain circumstances" by their own admission and I think it would be bogus to allow two guys who just don't want to fight each other be a circumstance. I would think it was bogus if they called a hypothetical Hopkins-Johnson fight for the title too, just because Hops doesn't want to fight Dawson, hell I'd consider it less so, as the gap between 2-3 at 175 is much less than the gap between 2-3 in HW. I think The Ring is just calling this for a title to get a HW title out there. You don't. That's fine.

First of all, HBO does listen to fans. They resigned Larry Merchant only after receiving a large backlash amongst subscribers who did not want to see Merchant let go and replaced full time by Kellerman. Many of us on ESB e-mailed them to voice our complaint and several weeks later they brought Merchant back

Hard as it may be to believe, they do listen to their customers. They know that a lot of people subscribe to their network largely for the boxing and they are smart enough not to dismiss these people. HBO is not like another network, they rely on paid subscriptions and are smart enough to realize if they **** of their subscribers they are going to cancel HBO

Second, they would be stupid not to air this fight. They air fights much worse than this all the time. Berto-Urango? Dawson-Tarver II? Come on. They even aired the most disgraceful "title fight" in the past decade at least with Hopkins-Hakkar

I think this is a very interesting fight, however that being said it will probably end up being a chess match, resulting in a semi-boring points decision win for Wlad. I understand why they dont want to air it, they dont want anymore bad ratings, and nobody in the U.S. (almost nobody) knows who the hell Chagaev is. HBO has picked up some bad W. Klitschko fight before (Ibragimov, Thompson, Rahman, Austin), they dont want to get burned again; even though this is probably Klitschko's toughest matchup in years. I do hope some american network picks up the fight, because it is a very significant fight in the H.W. division its for the RIng championship and Wlad's belts, maybe for Chagaeve's champion in recess belt as well. If Wlad or Chagaev wins, then the winner should fight Valuev and we could have a definitive undisputed champion (especially if Chagaev wins, and fights V. Klitschko).

Well, as others have already alluded to, you obviously don't operate your own business. I've been the CEO of my business since 2000, and I can tell you that if I didn't listen to customers and gather their feedback, I would have been out of business a long time ago.

Does HBO care if I, and hundreds of others contact them? I don't know. But I do know that they SHOULD care.

I understand your point about Haye bringing in more hype than Chagaev. But you mean to tell me HBO cannot hype up a heavyweight unification bout?

I'm sure they remember the last HW unification fight, which is why they're avoiding this one like H1N1.
