Arreola has a primary promoter who works with HBO, Goossen. A lot of Haymon guys don't have a promoter proper. These guys might or might not be welcome on HBO.

HBO officially declared no more business with GBP in march. the fight deal was in place long before that.

I'd be surprised if they do business with haymon again who will try to engage hbo/showtime in a bidding war.

Dexter! I watch both. Apples and oranges. Those are about the only two series worth watching.

I always assumed HBO had way more subscribers than Showtime. Could that have something to do with it?

Floyd isn't taking the bottom line though. Showtime is taking the majority of the profits. If only 10 people bought floyds next ppv he would still end up with 30 million. Showtime takes the risk.

this seems to be the case and probalby the single most deciding factor in floyd going into showtime. the garantee is pretty good.

showtime is the one at risk here.

30 mil to 22 mil. not that much more.

hbo does have a bigger boxing base.

the troubling thing about maidana lopez is that canelo did 1 mil. fedor when he was with strikeforce did 1 mil and that wasn't even ufc.

HBO has been the leading network in boxing for soma years, it will take time for Showtime to establish themselves on that same level. Showtime is going about this the right way, by putting together superior fights in superior packages. If they keep doing this, then hopefully people spread the word, and Showtime will get their desired viewership increases.

8 million is a sizeable difference; Showtime would have to grow their own subscriber base 36% to equal HBO's.

I hate it when schedules conflict and 2 good fights are on at the same time. It's like making you choose between siblings. Sho and hbo can compete all they want but at least have the common decency to allow boxing fans to watch one live fight at a time. They are part of the boxing family and they must understand this. No boxing fan wants to miss out on one live fight. Sure, there's dvr but you can't beat watching a fight as it happens.
