HBO did a marvelous job dumping Pacquiao/Vargas and going with SOG/Krusher. Brilliant.

SOG vs. Krusher is obviously superior (understatement) but Pac vs. Jessie would ordinarily have been HBO worthy.

for sure but all im sayin as far a ppv fight there all the same . they prolly all do about the same money and all the same result. but at this point of pacs career with the whole injury bs and with injuries reoccurring especially when fights get older and put in all the rounds pac did its just not ppv worthy as far as fan interest its just like the others nowone really cares

Yeah MVC, I do agree this is
a good move by HBO. Krusher/SOG is what boxing is about: 2 guys in their PRIME facing each other. 2 sets of big cojones going at it and going all in...a thing that Mayweather never made.

Let's be honest, you really think a guy like a washed up Berto was a better opponent for Mayweather than Vargas is for Pacquiao? Time to move on for Manny and it's the same for Mayweather for the well being of boxing, we don't need this clown anymore.

Since when Ward did bigger PPV numbers?

Yeah Ward is in the top 3 P4P, thing that Pac isn't anymore but **** off with the trolling.

I think Vargas' recent improvements (and having managed to hurt Bradley at least as bad as Pac ever did) and the relative freshness of KO6 along with Pac's general decline makes this a little more interesting than usual. I'd consider it PPV worthy, just in case this is Pac's swansong...especially because this is absolutely no worse than Berto for Mayweather.

HBO should try to buy the replay rights, and while they're at it fire Peter Nelson.

Dude, there was no picking by HBO. The Kovalev-Ward fight was in the works for a long time and was finalized. Pacquiao "coming out of retirement" was very sudden and the Vargas announcement came very quickly after.

With the Crawford PPV BOMBING, they just couldn't afford to produce and ask fans to pay for TWO PPVs in one month.

Pacquiao had to fight in November because of his job. Had the fight been in December, I'm sure HBO would have picked it up.

    Shoulda, woulda, coulda. They didn't.

Fact is - Pac's stock has already declined to a level where HBO doesn't really care anymore.

SHOWTIME didn't pick it up, HBO didn't pick it up. They're broadcasting it straight from TR ffs, it's going to bomb - ONCE AGAIN.

    Mayweather-Berto/Guerrero/Maidanawere all terrible flops.

SHO has no budget for boxing that NOTHING is happening in November.
