...said Dan Rafael in his weekly chat. Says the fight is possible for Golovkin's April date on HBO.

I hear Murray looked less than awesome in his latest fight (today?), and Geale is all talk as he's passed on a Golovkin fight before.

Would you be ok with a Kirkland fight for GGG, in terms of having a decent opponent in front of him? How many rounds before Kirkland gets stretched?

    :think

    No.

Kirkland has been inactive, injured, and is not even back in the mix at 154 (where he should be).... why would it be acceptable for Golovkin to fight him?

    just imo

I would rather see Kirkland fight Canelo.

Geale said he's willing to fight Golovkin now. Kirkland would be garbage id rather see Lemieux or Korobov.

I would prefer Geale but I doubt him or Kirkland take the fight. HBO may have to look at 168 for an opponent.

HBO's going to hammer the table for this fight. It's ratings gold at a bargain price.

As a fan, this might be my 5th option or so for who I'd like to see GGG fight. But I'd still watch GGG-Kirkland, and so would an assload of other fans. So it wouldn't surprise me at all to see this get made.

    Sadly, this.^^

Geale will once again **** his pants, he's all talk. He still thinks he got screwed by the judges in the Barker fight, and he knows he can't stop Golovkin either.

Lemieux or Korobov are not options either, no HBO exposure. April 2014 might be a forced move to 168 for Golovkin... Brandon Gonzales, that kind of opponent. Sergio has been cleared to start training, Martinez-Golovkin is only wishful thinking at this point and will probably never happen.

Based on potential ratings, you think they'll offer substantially more than they did for the Stevens fight?

Definitely do not want this fight to happen. Kirkland still has a lot of unfinished business at 154. Putting him in at 160 against someone like GGG is horrible for his career. With all the **** he's been through, taking this fight would be stupid. If this fight gets made, then **** K2 for not putting up enough money to get the people in the ring that matter; Golovkin should switch promotions once and for all.

    Kirkland vs Rosado
    Kirkland vs Molina 2
    Kirkland vs Ishida 2
    Kirkland vs D. Andrade
    Kirkland vs Vanes

these are the fights that should be on Kirklands horizon... and at 154.... Golovkins shouldnt even be considered.

His people, managers, and promoter would be stupid to make that fight.

GGG mugs James. Great fight for 2.....maybe 3 rounds but as soon as GGG touches Kirkland he's going "some type of way"!

Haha yeah I know about Universum but K2 is starting to screw him hard by not getting him meaningful fights. If he wants to become that champion that many believe he can be, he needs a big time promoter.
