Just started watching the American version of Calz/Kess broadcast and Lampley and Kellerman talk all the way through the 10second silence and bell ring for the passing of welsh rugby legend Ray Gravelle - TO EACHOTHER. :/
Probably because no one in America know's or cares who this person is. You ****s BOO everybody's national anthem so no need to be a hypocrite.
There's a world of difference between booing a national anthem and happily chatting through a 10 count in someones memory. Though booing a national anthem is still pretty shitty.
I thought something was going on in the arena at that time, I figured it was some type of moment of silence. I agree, that was totally disrespectful.
My guess is HBO would have tried to coordinate this better, but they may not have known that would be happening when they created the script. Once it's in place, there's nothing Lampley or anyone else can do. They certainly weren't going to suddenly take us to a 10 count for an anonymous (to Americans) rugby player while in the middle of pre-fight talks. It was unfortunate, definitely.
No it wasn't. It was a ridiculous comparison to make. Though I do get embarrsed when fellow Brits start booing other National anthems. That should be beneath us.
death of a rugby star and booing of a national anthem...one is disrespectful of one person, the other is disrespectful of 300 million people.
A song is a song. Thats all. A person is much more important than that. However I don't really want to get into an argument about it. I've said my piece and this could degenerate into one of those tedious nationalistic arguments that crop up every so often. We all know how they go.
doesn't matter whether its a rugby player or the ****in milkman, they should have respected the silence instead of being ignorant ****s.
its funny how I've never seen a ten-count for a ****ing milkman though. They should just stop this over-sentimental bollocks every time someone dies. If you want to grieve someone's death do it in your own way and in your own time, thats the sincere and respectful way to do things. I never even heard of this guy but if I dare speak during his ****ing ten-count I'll get lynched. Mourn in your own way, doing things like this is insincere and sanctimonious.
