As disgraceful as the commentary and scoring of the whole hbo team was I feel the way they they tried to lay blame at the feet of nacho was worse. They were trying to make out that he was some old fool who had made a mistake and that it was a viable excuse for juan not winning. He was winning the fight clearly in my and many others eyes so why would he not tell juan that to help his confidence. **** hbo they had as bigger hand in this as arum and the judges anyone agree with me
I just watched the HBO version, and I have to say it's some of the most biased commentating I've heard in a long time, especially the first 5 rounds. There was a point where they were giving PAC credit for blocking, when it was clear Marquez was landing some great combos. Like Toney calls them Home Boys Only... I remeber when Pavlik was the new White hope for American fans and HBO were riding his dick, they were all over him but then Hopkins happened and they dropped him. Obviously Pacquiao is a massive cash machine for them so it's in their interest to big him up. Suprisingly Kellerman was probably the best from the bunch yesterday. He had it 6 a piece and during commentary he called them out a few times and put things in perspective. manny steward came out with his same old **** "this fight turned out exactly as I called it..." and lederman just love pacquiaos "ring generalship" and "effective aggression" which I just couldn't see myself. Lampley had the biggest hard on for pacquiao for the first 4 rounds at least... And only after Marquez landed some huge combos in the 5th did they get of pacmans dick. Primetime commentary was miles ahead and that's saying something when you had Amir Khan doing it for the first time. Even he wasn't as biased as those HBO cocks.
I haven't seen the fight yet. From what I can gather though, HBO claimed that JMM walking out the final round cost him the fight. But, from looking at the scorecards even with that one extra round he'd have only gotten a draw because the Pacquiao card was so wide. Such a shame for Marquez. He really has no luck with Pac.
I have just watched HBO's coverage. I'm shocked. They make a huge deal of any shot Pacquiao lands, any shot Marquez lands they barely comment. At the end Manny Steward said JMM didnt take the title therefore if he was his trainer he couldnt be annoyed with the decision. They also make a massive deal of Nacho's instructions to JMM, when in reality he was telling it as it SHOULD of been, Marquez was winning therefore he needed to play safe, which he did. Then Kellerman goes into the dressing room and questions Nacho's instructions. My ****ing christ, the quicker Pacquiao and Mayweather fight and/or retire the better. Complete bollocks. I'm not one for getting annoyed with decisions but having watched this on HBO it's seriously beyond belief, this **** is corrupt, it has to be, as a broadcaster you must have some integrity about you, if you havent, whats the ****ing point
I think the idea that Beristain should have been streetwise enough to tell Marquez to make sure and to push him a bit harder is fair, but that shouldnt distract from a very poor decsion from the judges and disgracefully biased commentary from HBO.
