In the new HBO documentary about the Manilla fight, the commentators seem to be in agreement that the fight was fairly even going into the last round. I thought Ali had a pretty big lead even though they both took terrible beatings. That may be because when you watch on television you can't hear the splats of the body shots like you can ringside. Has anybody who watched the fight on television thought Frazier was ahead or close? (I scored it 9-5 for Ali before they stopped it) Also, Ali may have said "cut em off" like he did against Liston in their first fight, but I think Dundee would have once again pushed him back out. He could have just tied Frazier up the last round. Still, it was very interesting to see how close history was to being so very, very different.
