http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/hbo-dumps-klitschkos-51562 I can see this effecting the purse for the David Haye fights, might be a sign of the future that people only want to see decent fights. Ignore this if its been posted before.
It won't affect the purses. HBO will pick the fights up again if Haye or Adamek are opposition. If anything, it gives Haye more leverage cause he will bring HBO money to the table. Bad for HW boxing but good for Davids negotiating stance.
Have they dumped them carte-blanche or will they show them against Haye or Adamek? If it is a permanent dumping then it's the worst possible news for Haye really...... the leverage he had in terms of the American market is gone. I'm losing patience with Haye in truth, I've backed him time after time through his long layoffs and constant distasteful remarks about Wlad in particular. Let's be honest here, he's lucky he wasn't around in the division 15 years ago - he ought to realise that and get in there instead of chelping.
Only Haye or Adamek would interest HBO. Here's the original story: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/columns/story?columnist=rafael_dan&id=5347178 Main man at HBO also talks about their other plans with boxing.
Id like to think its a ploy to force the big players Klitschkos/Haye to consider the biggest prize in boxing, they have both been posturing for too long,I was always under the impression that the American channels HBO/ Showtime were the playmakers in boxing ,what they wanted they got.
Hilarious but the man is right. The Klitschkos are boring, haven't captured the publics imagination and no one I know can tell them apart. They need to fight Haye to create a stir.
