Because a reporter asks him if he would fight Mayweather. Golovkin and every other fighter who is asked says yes. Why do you people get your feelings hurt when anyone says they want to fight Mayweather? You know that the only reason you get to see your father figure/love interest fight is because people want to fight him, right?
You know that GGG is under contract to have his fights broadcast on HBO, right?
Mayweather v GGG IS NOT REALISTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Stop crying about it.
Erislandy had 3 options to get this fight he supposedly wanted.
    1.Leave GBP/Haymon
2.Go to 160 and get in position for a mandatory shot at the WBA title
3.Go to 160 and get another belt and see if HBO makes an exception for unification.
He didn't do any of those things.
If Lara really wants this fight, I expect him to fight the winner of Jacobs v Fletcher. It would be an in house fight for them and should be easily made. That would put big mouth in line for the fight that he calls for on twitter(no one asked him about it in an interview)

I have no problem with Golovkin wanting to fight Mayweather. However, how can they shoot down Lara because he's with Haymon then? And as someone else pointed out, Ward is not with Haymon. Of course with him, they're saying the fight can't happen until Ward is a PPV attraction. Again, that's ok. However, you can't try to blow yourself up by saying you'll fight anyone from 154 to 168 and then later on start making exceptions.

you mean unlike the pushovers ward wanted for his comeback (and only) fight? yet some still insist other fighters are ducking him.
how many times do posters need reminding ggg never said that before it finally sinks in?

GGG makes haters. Fact. Can't wait for him to go like, 43 wins before he takes his first L, if he even takes an L.

Only real problem is that all the match-ups the bird brained HBO execs propose are ****.
When a great match-up is offered bird brain HBO execs always reject it for some other meaningless mismatch.
    HBO sucks!

What I find most interesting about this is that Ward clearly isn't on HBO's list of approved opponents for Triple G. I thought they were really pushing for that fight. Maybe it was just Kellerman.

You don't have to like GGG but to suggest he isn't an exciting fighter is delusional. Beats watching Ward, Rigo, or Hopkins for sure.

All rules are broken when it comes to mayweather. When you can make millions, no one cares about loyalty or interpersonal relationships.

Not sure HBO's going to invest anything in Ward until the lawsuit settles. They're not going to risk spending millions and tying up another date only to see Ward bail to Haymon and Showtime immediately afterwards. If he leaves, it's going to be with zero career momentum- they'll let Showtime invest in bringing him back if that's the route he chooses.

In the meantime, they'll reallocate the budget they had set aside for Ward to fund better opponents for Kovalev and GGG, who bring in ratings well above their allocated purses.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yes such a pleasure he was banned by HBO. He is awful to watch. He refuses to engage and throws 1/4th the average punches per round for his Division.

Lara can get GGG fight if he gets 160 belt. It seems like K2 has a unification exception in their HBO deal which is why they were able to make offer to Quillin. They can make unifications.

Dont forget, Ward doesnt fight without that HBO money either. Goossen has sent offers to Ward to fight even with lawsuit. Ward rejected, cause of money. If its PPV the network is making money, not paying money - so that puts the promoter in the drivers seat.

HBO are the people to convince for the fights. Yes HBO has an agenda, obviously. But theres nothing anyone can do about that. They put up the money, they have the power. It is what it is, it goes for any fighter who isnt PPV.

-edit - if Lara was willing to fight in MC/Europe for typical challenger split for 160 belts, for whatever purse envelope was to be had I'd expect K2 to take the fight and be very dissapointed if they didnt
