its a good series Kellerman does fine....

Hopkins drones on and gets boring to listen to

we don't need anyone to try instigate beef like in a school playground this aint WWF

furthermore its just supposed to be a face off not an in depth interview and no boxers are honestly gonna go into any detail about the tactics they intend to employ with their opponent sitting across a table!!

If you're going to replace the regular HBO stooges with an actual fighter for the face-offs then put Roy Jones in the chair. He's already proven his worth as a commentator and as an all-time boxing great he wouldn't get as much scoffs as pencil necked Max Kellerman.

Imagine RJJ in there with Khan: "Amir, they say you have a glass jaw. What's your response?"

Or with Hops: "Bernard, you're so old, why don't you retire? Why do you still fight on at your age? Don't you know it's a hazard to your health?"

That would be great, but he'd still only manage to get one question out.

Hopkins has way too much of an ego to interview other people.

Everything Kellerman does on HBO is absolutely terrible. His commentary, post-fight interviews, Face Off presenting, fight rundowns. I really have no idea why HBO sticks with him.

It was the best fight in awhile as well. It actually exceeded the hype and was very competitive. BHOP is the fighter's fighter. :smoke

When BHOP retires, he'd focus on the fighters themselves and put the current crop of commentators who've gained they positions through the "good ole Boy" system (Lederman, Kellerman, Bernstein, Merchant) to shame. Ironically, these are the same ass lickers who were Anti-Hopkins throughout his entire career, so showing them up in his post-retirement secondary career would be sweet.

Bernard is still fighting, so to expect him not to be confident and hype himself is, unrealistic.
When he retires, and through with fighting, it would be less about himself, and more about the interview, so at that point Bernard would/could possibly raise the bar on the mediocre "Shoe-in/Free Ride" mouthpieces we have had to listen to for the last 30 years. :yep

If they did that hopkins would be talking the whole time only giving the fighters 1 minute each.

Hopkins would just simply reply, "Look who's talking."
