But the bottom line fact, as great as they are, is that neither guy is a bonafide SUPERSTAR. They are WCB fighters at best.....do you understand that?"

Jack Presscot..................."Is it? If Casamayor walks around the MGM Grand by himself on a Friday night, MAYBE one or two hardcore fans like myself would recognize him. Oscar, if you walk there by yourself you will get mobbed by autograph seekers, ect. That is the difference between a Superstar and a Fighter. Comprende?

Jack Presscot................."It's real ****ing simple, Gentlemen, what you do, is identify those fighters which are bonafide Superstars. If they get mobbed in a public area, if many folks recognize them, they are SUPERSTARS. Manny Pac and Hatton are 2 examples. Fighting EACH OTHER it is a PPV worthy event. A Megafight. Hatton fighting Malignaggi is not PPV, neither is Manny Pac taking on some jobber, WBC mandatory. Those are regular HBO BAD or WCB fights. Sugar and Margarito could have POSSIBLY been PPV, but in today's economy, HBO is better off showing it on HBOWCB, and ensuring that in this non Football Weekend, they get some Mondo muther****ijn' ratings, rather than risk only 135,000 folks willing to shell out 54.95 to watch this, and with a weak undercard. Oscar, nobody dont wanna see Abner Mares fighting nobody. But get Juarez a Title shot, and stick Bojado in there against Hector Camacho Jr. and Elena Reid in a bloody chick fight, and that is a PPV Undercard, just like Don used to do back in the day."

Dana White......................"Looks like Jack is unto something. Thats what we have done with the UFC on SPIKE TV. We show the lower level fights, and use these as an advertising springboard for the MegaEvents, on PPV TV, like Brock's Revenge match. Before all is said and done, we will have fed our target PPV Audience about 18 hours of free MMA on Spike, and tease them with the Event, by the time it happens, people are dying to see the Rematch.

Uhhmm.. ***** sizes, colors, tastes of ***** and all that aside, I appreciate you going to trouble Jack. Hausler is also been dropping bombs on HBO and I think they are starting to wake up. 2007 ..and back a good PPV was viewed around 250-350K and the mega events 750K and up. But all of 2008's PPV's aside from the one or two true EVENTS all did like 150K if they were lucky.

You are certainly right, they need to get their head out of their asses.

Months ago, I called a braindead CEO from Time Warner, and complained about Casamayor-Marquez being forcefed to Boxing Fans on PPV. I told him this was a WCB or BAD fight at best. I mentioned Eastside Fans had agreed with me that this was not a "PPV Worthy" fight. He laughed and told me that our opinions had no bearing on what fights would be PPV, that it was between HBO and the Promoter. I challenged him to show the numbers for that fight, only to be told that "If it made a profit, more fights would then also be deemed "PPV" and I retorted that we, the fans would fight with our wallets. (He was too chicken**** to guarantee me the numbers would be shown.)

As usual, I proved the Corporate Big Boys, DEAD ASSED WRONG, as the next 4 HBO shows are WCB or BAD free of PPV Charge. My opinion is that the Cotto/Pavlik PPV doubleheader will do **** poor numbers. This should send a clear message to Bob Arum, former keeper of the DLH Gold Medal, that he cannot fool the fans.

I am guesstimating right now that the Pac Man-Hatton PPV does exactly 1 million buys. I will buy this one, because I am a fan of both fighters, and it is a LEGITIMATE Superfight. However, I will be writing a LEtter to the Editor of the LA Newspapers, that GBP NEEDS to put on a SERIOUS Undercard for the fans.
