What kind of man is he? Whad kind of MAN is he? How bout the type of man that beat other mens asses his whole life? How bout the man whos felt the pressure of fighting on the world stage in front of a world audience, and felt the punches of true fighters and yet continued to put his life on the line day in and day out, who knew that Malignaggi could get hurt in there when there was little to gain, except the fact that he went the distance. look... i was gutted for paulie, i was. I would never want a fight stopped like that for me with one more round to go. But im not going to sit here and **** all over the people who did it, when everyone involved are former champions and KNOW FIRST HAND what its like, and yet THEY STILL made their decisions, because id rather argue over wether it was stopped a round too early then if it was stopped too late.
There's no point for Paulie to get beat up another round. His corner did the right thing because: Paulie needed a KO to win and there was no way Paulie was going to KO Hatton. Will it makes you happier if Paulie was in the hospital right now in a coma, I guess not. The only thing left for Paulie was to finish the fight on his feets but he was getting pounded hard. I feel he should have fought on to finish the fight because there was only one round left but his corner did the right thing in stopping it.
Lennox earned his right to speak from his ring experience. Want to tell us YOUR qualifications to question him?
Lennox is a good commentator, he should stay, he's just giving his opinion about fighters, that is his job afterall.
What ever happened to boxers getting knocked down a few times. Paulie never touched the canvass once. What happeded to about like ok i'll step in to avoid real danger to the fighter. Paulie wasn't in any danger. Be it he was losing and had no real chance of winning but man what do people come to see, He wasn't getting Destroyed just getting beat up good. I knew paulie wasn't going to win but I would have prefered a 12 round fight. and I am far from a sadist.
thats not sport.. go watch prison fights or something.. ive got no interest in seeing anymore meldrick taylors or pernell whitakers.. id like the fighters i admire to be able to remember their accomplishments and string an audible sentence together when they retire..
I guess you have misse the 100 other topics about this subject... Lewis is right, McGirt was RIGHT and you sir ARE WRONG...Two former world champions one an atg...And you are the for most expert on timely stoppages??
We have the benefit of watching fights as fans with no real emotions vested in a fighter, as all we really want to see a fight, so we dont look at/see the fight in the same way as a trainer/manager does So things may have looked worse to Buddy and Di Bella than they actually were especially since Di Bella looks at Paulie like a son so he didnt want to see Paulie seriously hurt..... Paulies pride may have took a hit last night but: "A Dent In Your Pride Is Easier to Recover From Than a Dent In Your Head":deal
If Paulie wanted to fight he should have shown that earlier. Lennox was absolutely right, Hatton was starting to tee off when the towel was thrown in. I think he could have been seriously hurt in the 30 seconds that followed.
i can see you are a big paulie fan ...but get real he wasnt going to win, buddy saved him a few more bruises.
man dont blame mr lennox if ur disappointed. and yea, if lewis think its right, it probably is. he is a legend in the ring.
