wtf, paulie only has the right to complain if he was actually throwing punches. he was a bore to watch, he was wrestling hatton and forgot that he has a hand and that he is supposed to throw them being that the sport is boxing.

Can you imagine the damage Hatton would have done if Paulie wasn't constantly tying his arms up and ducking low? I'm afraid that's all Paulie had and I really didn't want to see anymore of that until Ricky did actually get through.

Oh and leave Lennox alone you poof.

I can just hear Gerald McClellan, as he dribbles out of the sides of his mouth, unable to feed himself, dress himself, or tuck his 3 children in at night:

"Thank god you didn't stop the fight, coach. I'm so glad I'm still a real man".

Watch the 10th round. Listen to the commentary. McClellan was ahead and Benn was surviving. If anyone should have been stopped before the 10th round, it's Benn. McClellan takes a knee after a right hand. No one knows why...he wasn't knocked down and the punch didn't look like it could have hurt him much. BUT...here's the thing...he gets back up of his own accord! So...why should the corner stop it? They don't understand why he took a knee in the first place. He takes another knee again, for no apparent reason and the referee counts him out. At what point would you have stopped the fight, if you had been the ref or his corner? For what reason?

But you are right...you never can tell how hurt a fighter is, once he gets punched in the head. So boxing should not allow punches to the head. Better yet, ban boxing altogether. It's dangerous. Ban boxing now! Let's all just play ping pong instead. No mother would ever be afraid of watching her son play ping pong, right?

So, that's boxing out of the way...

    ...rugby? Spine injuries. Ban it!

    Ban them all!

Yeah, if only Lewis had a pair of balls. Some clowns on this forum lately, keyboard warriors at their best.

The stoppage was perfect, Hatton was dominating and Malignaggi had no chance at all, he was constantly getting hurt and taking punches he wasn't suppose to be taking at that point, it's not like he has one punch KO power to change anything. Good stoppage.

Blah, blah, blah...keyboard warriors...blah, blah, blah...let's just stop fights as soon as a fighter loses 3 rounds in a row. Ban any fighter who has a KO ration higher than 10% - they're dangerous! Better yet, let's just ban the whole thing altogether. We wouldn't want anyone to get hurt now, would we, and since the whole point of boxing is to hurt the other guy, it should be banned. My mother certainly thinks so...she's not the only one either. Ban the thing.

This is the post of the thread. Zakman and Tyson 2005, should focus a little more on the impact this has on both the boxers and their families and get off their macho bull****. Better yet, throw them in the ring under these circumstances..and we can add their names to the list.

How many people have died in the amateur ring or were badly damaged as a result of amateur fights? Few, if any, is my guess. Let's ban pro boxing and stick with the amateur variety, then, agreed?

Lennox was right, and Paulie's corner was right. Part of a trainer and a corner's job is to try to protect their fighter when he has no chance of victory.

    Deal with it.

No but I'd agree to stop fights before deaths occur. You obviously have a different opinion. Fine, just be prepared to get in the ring and back it up. I'll make a deal with you, you want to fight to the death, fine, I'll watch.

And if you're not prepared to do this you're a hypocrite, plain and simple.

No, it's not. It's their job to protect him from too much damage whether or not he has a chance of victory. He wasn't getting damaged. He wasn't getting hurt. He was just losing the round. Unwarranted stoppage.

    Deal with it.

WTF are you talking about? Was Malignaggi in danger of dying?

    Whatch the rounds, buddy!

The guy was getting hurt less than 95% of boxers who lose a wide decision are hurt. Should all fights be stopped when a fighter loses a couple of rounds in a row?

    1. He'd lost 10 rounds in a row, and looked absolute miserable and at times barely able to stay on his feet while doing it.

    2. He was a fighting a strong pressure fighter who was still throwing fresh, sharp punches, and has a history of tremendously hurting fighters with a single blow, including shots that didn't look like they would have the effect that they did. (Anyone remember Hatton-Castillo?)

    3. I figure McGirt stopped the fight in disgust at Paulie's performance as much as anything else. Which is entirely appropriate.

He looked miserable, did he? Oh, dear! His mummy not there to give him his pacifier? It's a fight! He was losing! What did you expect him to feel like?:huh
