HBO gutted?

    It was probably from the cameraman witrh leukemia but they were really rooting for Cotto

    It is sad, welterweight Boxing is almost in a recession now----Floyd stays retired, De La Hoya won't fight tony.

    The welterweight champs claim to fame is not a sound boxing ability, but rather an ability to take a punch.

    Paul WIlliams gets destroyed if he fights him.

    All the other welterweights will step up and recieve the same beating.
    ....welterweight division now looks like the heavyweight division, with flashes of talent, who either duck the champ, or step up and get ruined.

    The official hate jim lampley thread is out there somewhere, based on his calling of the fight.

    The point was that it was a montage very bias towards Cotto, and how sad it was that he lost. It didn't show the up side of Margo winning, just the downside of Cotto getting beat.

    I did see the whole broadcast, but the mood was down as soon as Cotto lost, before Lampley mentioned the cameraman. They all just seemed shocked. If they were only sad about the cameraman then they would have been sad before the fight aswell.

    Steward was flashing his cheeky grin again tho :yep

    Thats the thing; they dont have Kenny Bayless integrity. There is no problem being sad for Cotto and Judah and especially Cotto since he represented the sport to the highest degree; but so many today are like the HBO crew who more often than not let their biases overcome justice.

    Just to clarify the situation with Lampley.
    Yes it's true that he's biased towards HBO fighters, however,
    it seems that many of his contemporaries are dying or getting sick.
    Jim McKay was his mentor and died a few weeks ago (he was crying on air), now the crew guy was close to him.

    I noticed this as well. Lampley was blatanly nuthugging Cotto all night. It almost got to the point were I wanted to turnb the sound down and jst watch it on mute. How many times did you hear Lampley talk about Cotto landing all the effective punches or how he has the much harder punch. For the sixth round on Cotto's face looked like it came out of a Rocky movie. I saw an "I hate Lampley express thread" on here onch and I say we revive it. This guy is pathetic and I'll still watch HBO boxing because they have the best fights but he needs to be replaced.
