HBO has something in the works ...

The winner of the sauerland six will fight either Pavlik or Bute on HBO. I've been saying that all along. People thought Pavlik was off his rocker for critisizing the sauerland/showtime money, and declaring his loyalty to HBO, but mark my words: Pavlik and Bute will both make more money then the sauerland six participants, and the tourney winner will fight one of them ON HBO!!

 

Bika hasn't signed with GBP. He's a promotional free agent.

Bute is very talented fighter.

 

We can assume that the contracts for the Super 6 have specific
stipulations about the winner fighting on Showtime for 1 or 2 fights.
Hell probably the entire line up.

 

HBO has been very unwise about picking some of their fights. They need enlarge their budget. Vlad should fight this year, not in March!

 

The way it could go down...if we're lucky


Pavlik beats Williams.
Bute looks good vs Andrade.

Then you get USA vs Canada. Two large fan bases that aren't far from each other geographically. If the promoters wanted to have fun with it they could put it in Montreal or Cleveland, or they could go for the quick buck in AC.

Winner of that fights the Super 6 winner/whoever comes out looking good. Plus you might be able to put the loser against whoever is coming off the loss in the S6 final.


Of course, nothing goes to plan. Pavlik and Bute could both lose their next fights, and the Super 6 could end in disastrous promoter squabbles.

 

I seriously think Bute might be the best fighter above welter, and I'm not Canadian or Romanian or anything, that's just my considered opinion.

He's got the best combo of offense and defense I've seen - most of the other guys like Froch, Pavlik, AA are punch oriented with defense that ranges from middling to terrible. Bute is the consummate boxer, he brings it all together. The only question mark is his stamina.

 

except he lost to andrande already.

 

Dawson isn't going down in weight, too much unfinished buisness in the LHW division. Probably the winner of Williams/Pavlik will fight Lucian Bute.

 

That's the fight we all want to see.

 

Lucian Bute vs Mikkel Kessler is what I want to see.

And no matter happens during the tournament Abraham vs Pavlik

 

Kessler beats them all and that includes Dawson.

 

Kessler is going to win the tourney, IMO.

Pavlik is going to have his hands full with Williams.

Pavlik is taller, but Williams has the reach advantage.

Pavlik is powerful, but Williams is slick.

It may come down to conditioning, or Pavlik's ability to deal with a southpaw to counter all of his shots.

Its going to be worth watching.

 

Dawson would beat the **** out of Kelly Pavlik. And what makes you so sure he won't beat Johnson again?
