Should Pavlik lose to Williams, I can see him being matched up with one of the ousted fighters of the super six tournament in his super middleweight debut or he can fight the winner of Bute vs Andrade winner. Williams with a win over Pavlik isn't moving anywhere, he can probably push for one of those welterweight guys to come up and fight him in some big fights.

Who's the new WBO champion with? who's his promoter?

 

I don't think that there can be an undisputed super middleweight champion without Bute in the mix.

I think it was ridiculous to keep Bute and Pavlik out of the mix ... **** a Pavlik vs Froch fight would be great ... and Bute vs Kessler fight would've been great ... and a Taylor vs Pavlik third fight would be awesome.

 

Let him know something ... a nice chunk of Pavlik's career was at 168 and above ... the added weight was nothing ... those guys can barely make 160 ... especially considering their training regimine. The problem isn't the weight ... he just got too comfortable with knocking guys out and lost his knack for boxing.

Well I can seriously see someone bailing out on the tourney if they got a championship ... (especially the young guys)

I can see them bailing for bigger bucks against other fighters ... because I know that Kessler, Taylor, and Abraham can make money fighting against other fighters in their native country than they would make in the tournament. They also would just have to have a title to boost their marketability.

 

1-1= a trilogy, possibly PPV, and no need for a super middleweight debut. They don't have to have an immediate rematch do they? ... I'm wondering because in some cases the fight doesn't have to be for the title, it could be at a higher weight class like his second fight with Jermain Taylor ... if thats the case then win or lose he should move on ... IMO Kelly has nothing to prove at all at middleweight ... despite him only having 2 title defenses ... his reign doesn't really matter now that he's made a name for himself. Williams himself said that he can fight comfortably at 168 ... why not create some room for Pavlik just in the case of an L and give him a shot at redemption on his way to moving on. In addition to that, if they don't force the rematch immediately they can build up some anticipation _ given Pavlik goes on to win a super middleweight title.
