Hmmm, first Hershman agreed to Floyd's demands to not talk about his outside the ring screw ups and now Hershman hires one of HBO's most vocal critics. At any rate, atleast Hauser is an actual boxing person and that should help with the quality of the decision making.

Maybe he can ask them why the latest heavyweight fights of note have been and will be on Epix and not on the premiere ****ing channel for boxing.

What a joke. Hauser didn't even cover the sport in the past few years aside from his HBO rants. He comes across as a boxing noob in regards to the current scene and now he can add the title of hypocrite. They just hired him to shut him up.

Oh god:patsch I like Hauser but he has a personal vendeta against HBO and the last two guys that ran the sports department. If you've actually read his **** you'll know that most of his ideas are boarderline phenatical and overly simplistic. The only way I can see this possibly working is if Hauser and Hirshman already have a good working relationship when it comes to the bussiness of boxing. I highly doubt this is the case. Hauser is not a bussiness guy in anyway shape or form, so frankly I can't see this turning out to be a good move.

HBO already did the right thing and Hired the guy that was running boxing the way it should be (Ken Hirshman). They should just leave it at that.

Oh god what a ****ing disaster. Christ:patsch **** me thats the one thing they shouldn't be doing. The one and only thing that HBO needs to do to turn their ship around is find another Lu DeBella. Some YOUNG straight thuggin' Jewish or Italian G from New York, whose recently graduated from some Ivy league law or bussiness school and whose favourite pass-time is getting pissed up on the weekends with his buddies and watching da fights. They need a guy that knows bussiness and money but whose really going to get into the underground of the sport and figure out what's going on, at the ground level. They don't need some old hack whose one logical criticism is that they should hire a guy to do just what I've said they should do....which is exactly what they are not doing should he accept that:patsch.

Hauser as a consultant = "okay, fine whatever this isn't going to go down well but at least it wont be a complete ****ing disater"; Hauser as head of boxing division = "**** me in the goat ass, this is going to be a complete disaster",

Glen Sather the GM that put the Edmonton Oiler's dynasty together in the 80s (thats ice hockey for you guys who don't know) was asked once what skills you needed to have to be a good General Manager. His response was that the only skill you needed was to be able to evaluate talent. Cause you can hire guys to run the business and figure out the contracts and pretty much do everything else for you, but if you can walk into an ice hockey rink watch 50 prospects play and be able to pick out the one kid that'll make it in the NHL then you can be an NHL GM.

The same applies to boxing. The only thing the head of boxing at HBO needs to do is be able to tell figure out who is going to be the real deal and be able to tell a **** fight from a good one. That's it. To be frank, Hauser's what I call a 20/20 warrior, I've never seen anything out of him that makes me think he has the ability to smell an egg before it hatches.
