HBO Interested in 4 Man Middleweight Tournament

HBO has expressed an interest in bringing together the division's top dogs -- Golovkin, Martinez, Pirog and Daniel Geale, who became the unified titleholder with his win over Felix Sturm on Saturday -- for a four-man, single-elimination tournament next year. Martinez needs to win for it to happen --Top Rank has no interest in including Chavez in such a tournament, not when he brings so much money to the table on his own -- but if he does, that would be an electric event"

Chavez will probably be too protected but Pirog, Golovkin, Geale would all most likely be interested since it would provide them with worldwide exposure, good money and the oppertunity to prove themselves as the best middleweight in the world. If HBO and those 3 MW's are all interested then this will show who exactly Serio Martinez is.

Martinez wants to be a star and get money well this will provide him with those oppertunities along with the platform to prove he is a great MW. If Martinez doesn't want to participate because he's looking for fights against easier opponents then that will say everything.

 

Winning a tournament like this would possibly get him there just look what it did for the BW's, SMW's and Andre Ward.
