About a month ago I thought I heard Lampley take a side ways shot at USADA (wish I could remember what he said now) but wasn't sure that was the case until Kellerman last night did the same. Kellerman said "VADA is the best testing agency we know of" which of course is a blast on USADA. After, on Lampley's fight game, they come out and make the clear assertion (for casuals who may not know) that Margarito was definitely loaded with plaster against Cotto. I like what HBO is doing here, they are refusing to keep silent on wrongs doings in boxing and putting much of their weight to bring to light what are obviously true injustices in boxing. So please join me in bringing much needed kudos to HBO for doing this and let us hope they are able to make a difference for the future!!
Kellerman said what he said after the Jennings fight, then Lampley had his "The Fight Game" show on afterword in which they talked about Cotto Margarito. This is what makes it all the more impressive, the quick succession and rate in which their saying these things. It's like a change of culture in them that is saying we're not gonna keep our mouths shut anymore, I really like it and hope they continue with it.
We'll his only decent win was one over dona ire who himself was overrated (if he wasn't somewhat american fans wouldn't care at all about him) and since then his done nothing and struggled at times against poor opposition his also getting old and if his still in your top 10 he won't be there for long
Donaire was way up those lists legitimately when he lost and Rigo hasn't come close to losing since. It's a ridiculous opinion.
Well you have to wonder if he is, he's not done anything of note the past couple of years, looked unimpressive in his last outing. I love Rigo but I'd probably take him off as well. Or at least put him further down to the lower end of the list.
The Japanese guy dropped him heavy. He didn't look good at all against a complete bum in his last fight and cordoba dropped him. It's easy to make an argument for him not being top 10
The Walters fight was a strange ordeal, there was obviously no incentive to rob Walters so I think it was a case of judges not seeing what they expected to and scored atrociously because of it. Walters didn't win a pretty fight but he definitely won. I'm not sure why he obliged Sosa and fought his fight, pretty sure he had the skill to completely separate himself from Sosa and by not doing so he allowed Sosa to make it ugly. Ugly fights are harder to score but that wasn't nearly enough of an excuse here.
I was surprised how little they made out of the Walters robbery though, I mean after Pac-Bradley I, Lampley went mental. Yet here he just snigerred and seemed almost apathetic to it (and this was a far worse robbery). Kellerman had more of a reaction but even then it was a bit mild.
