HBO is giving us better fights now

Gotta admit, I thought it would propel showtime, but since GBP and Al Haymon have moved their act to Showtime, I've since canceled my subscription and bought HBO.

Wierd. I bought Showtime for the S6 and Bute. But when GBP arrived I figured it would get better.
But soon after GBP left, HBO began airing the biggest fights. Cotto, GGG, Kovalev, Wlad.

Sh!t....maybe GBP was holding them hostage.:think

LMFAO so every one here hates Floyd. Who is paying for his PPVs then? There doesn't seem to be many die hard fans left who know and appreciate boxing for what it is, the "sweet science". If it's not casual fans watching Floyd break records then who is? The general public? Seems like to me you're talking out of your butt because Floyd has consistently proven he's the biggest entertainer in boxing. That's FACT.

I think HBO's strategy as of the moment is to show lesser quality fighters who will be fireworks in the ring. Showtime has most of the big names now, so what HBO can do to compete and ride out this storm of a showtime onslaught is to put on fights like Rios/Alvarado. Things that are exciting but not exactly the best fights in terms of sweet science.

The event in Canada was fantastic; I watched in on Sky Sports so I got to see the undercard, I think only one fight went the distance!

 

Who gives an F if it's HBO or SHO. Are there seriously HBOtards now? I'm just happy there are boxing events every other week it seems on one network or the other. The fights have been relatively the same. Some good ones and some horrible ones on both.

It's a matter of preference, I personally love his fights, not in terms of excitement but in terms of being able to admire and appreciate the pure skill and technique of this guy. But it's certainly not for everyone and I can understand why not everyone is a fan of his style.

 

Aside from welterweight, what other divisions does SHO have a monopoly over? All the the Marquee fighters in other weight classes are currently
fighting on HBO, and producing much more entertaining fights.

If you were intelligent you would notice that SHOWTIME has only one white fighter (Paulie Malignaggi) who was supposed to be cannon fodder for their up
coming star Broner. That plan almost failed them when Adrien barely eked out a split decision verdict which a lot of people felt should have gone to Paulie.

People take this Boxing cold war seriously because of the racial divisions that have been drawn from the two networks, and the promotional companies who's
fights they put on display.

Golden Boy and SHOWTIME barley have anyone in their stable who is not of African, or Hispanic descent on their stable. Shumenov (Asian) is being fed as cannon
fodder for the aging Hopkins to sell us the everlasting myth of black athletic superiority. Bernard the way he was getting tagged by Murat, would not
see past the fourth round with Kovalev.

Top Rank, K2, and the other promotional companies which are affiliated with HBO cater to people of all ethnic backgrounds. They don't show favoritism to any
fighter based on their race unlike GBP and Haymon (who explicitly stated that he would never manage a white fighter).

As you climb up the ladder into the higher weight classes you will see a higher propensity of white fighters than than in the lower ones. The only division that
blacks are truly dominating is the welterweight division. That's why SHOWTIME is inclined to show fights primarily in the welterweight class (or the two *******
divisions around it) because of the inundation of African and Hispanic fighters in those three weight classes (the welterweight faction being the organic nucleus
of those two other ones).
