HBO is giving us better fights.

Back when Golden Boy had a contract with HBO, Golden Boy would push low quality fights on HBO all the time. Many people don't remember, but I do and I was tired of it.

After they broke away from HBO, Showtime gave us better fights for a few months, but that's it. Now HBO is giving us better fights and better fighters. Over they past year, they've developed some breakout stars like Kovalev, Stevenson & GGG.

HBO is investing in fighters. Showtime isn't doing as much, partly because a lot of their budget went to Mayweather.

It is strange because Showtime used to have the up coming stars and it was pure raw talent that kept me glued to the show. This whole thing has created a flip flop but as a fan we get more fights now than ever that I recall:good

Indeed. And the best thing about their separation...it gave other promoters other than Top Rank & Golden Boy a chance to shine. They used to dominate the airwaves, but now everyone is getting a piece of the HBO pie. It's been a huge benefit to fighters and the fans.

This is great for the long-term health of the sport.
