This is seriously an interesting match up, more so than Canelo vs Liam Smith, Canelo vs Khan or GGG vs Brook.

 

Orbital bone fracture. I hope they are happy with the payday because you can bet all his opponents will be targeting that eye from here on out. Good luck to Brook at Jr.MW, he'll need it with that eye.

 

A fighter like Brook is taylor made for Canelo. Unless he fights anything like Floyd or Lara, he isn't going to find as much success against Canelo as he did against GGG. His best bet would be to do what Cotto was trying to do, and outscore Canelo by being light on his feet and throw combinations.

If GGG who is a slower puncher than Canelo managed to land leather, bet your ass Canelo will counter the turd out of Brook all night. Ass the fact that Brook may neber be the same fighter after the Orbital bone fracture and this is a terrible match up for Brook.

 

There's one thing you just can't compromise with: YOU CAN'T COUNTER WHEN YOU HAVE TO COME FORWARD.

Brook is faster and more elusive than the Cotto that Canelo fought, he has good head and upper body movement, he knows how to roll with punches, has good lateral movement and knows how to and when to clinch.

Canelo would have to be the agressor against him. This is far, far from an easy pick.

 

Might as well make Canelo - Khan 2

Brook is no Trout or Mayweather and is not better than Cotto. Brook is not a slick elusive fighter, he is an inderior counter puncher to Canelo.

 

He's no Mayweather but he's better than Cotto as far as fighting off the back foot goes( not to say a better figher than prime Cotto, just more comfortable going off The back foot) and he has better offensive arsenal than Lara.

Canelo isn't on Golovkin's league when It comes to pressuring and you're deluded if you don't think he'd have to be the agressor against Brook.
