According to Fight News "One of the reasons IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschkos defense of the unified heavyweight title against Philadelphias Eddie Chambers wont be televised in the United States is that HBO executives believe U.S. fight fans cant tell the difference between Wladimir and his brother, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko." This is an absolute travesty. Ross Greenburg is a complete clown and should be replaced as head of boxing for HBO. 110 countries have the fight on television and HBO comes up with this excuse???
I'm not sure if this is a good reason to not put the fight on, but Greenberg is right. Most casual fans in America don't know the difference between the two.
A poll on Fight News shows that close to 90% of fight fans know the difference and that's who watches HBO boxing. **** casual American sports fans. All they care about are overweight "football" players.
Vitali vs Chambers will be a good fight and Ill be watching the online PPV. Chambers wont test Vitalis chin like Lennox did against Wlad but it should be a good fight.
Casual fans in America does not order HBO ppv broadcasts ... except if there is Oscar DLH participating then they are ordering for their wifes.
Well at least HBO is not showing it, Wlad fights are boring, and he takes no risks whatsover. That Chagaev fight was a disgrace.
A week before Vitali vs Arreola, HBO had a brief preview after a 24/7 episode and it showed a picture of Wladimir. Its seems Ross Greenburg is the one who is confused.
I'm thinking of getting rid of HBO. Thats no reason not to show a fight. But if there losing money on Wlad they should just say it. Lets face it wlad keeps fighting boring fights overseas. But one thing you have to understand about the us media. They are antiwhite.
Most casual fans dont know who Dawson,Ortiz,Kirkland...etc are but that doesnt stop HBO from forcing certain "house" fighters down our throats.
