HBO's biggest problem is they are trying to market certain fighters instead of marketing good match-ups!
As an american I would have to agree with you. Although there are alot of fight fans here in America such as myself, the casual sports fans dont know **** about anything in boxing, let alone the Klits.
Anyone got a lead as to when HBO is gonna replay "Packy-Clottey?" My cable guide from the DVR player shows no listing for this Sat. night.... MR.BILL:huh
:thumbsup The issue I have with HBO is that American fight fans pay for HBO and want to see Wlad and Vitali fight. Greenberg should get his head out of his ass and not come up with these pathetic excuses.
How exciting are Floyd Mayweather's fights?? He fights carefully and avoids risks like Wlad, yet HBO is all over his matches.
Regardless if HBO has jacked-off the last year or so with boxing, they are still # 1 in my book..... Showtime is, and always has been, # 2..... MR.BILL
So, what they're trying to do is show us the difference? 'The guy you're watching right now is Vitali. The guy you're not watching is Wladimir. Can you tell the difference?' How ridiculous.
NO! The current issue with HBO failing to sign "Klit-Chambs" is HBO, as well as the fans, do NOT wanna see a stink fight........ "Klit-Byrd" of 2006 bit the rod. And V.K. versus Kevin Johnson bit the rod, too.... The "K" brothers have no real competition right now..... "Haye & Povetkin" aren't the answer....... MR.BILL
Great point. Also, a nearly identical thread was up yesterday. It has been established that there is only one Klitchko and that he is boring.
:rofl:rofl Here is one boxing fan, who can´t tell the difference between the two brothers. Maybe HBO is right about the american fans.
Yeah...but most Casual fans wouldn't be watching the fight. That's what I love about SHOWTIME and ESPN..and even Telefutra. They could CARE LESS about the Casual fan...**** Em'. They show hot prospects, not-so-hot prospects and even obscure fighters, fighters trying to regain some relevancy. Not a fan of neither fighter...But as a Fan of Boxing, I would have still love to watch it!!!
You guys are really overestimating the popularity of boxers/boxing and underestimating the rating needed by HBO.
