    WTF???

    $750,000 was bad enough for Ortiz/Campbell but 7 figures for Berto vs. some No-name?

    These were the kind of fights Berto was on FNF a couple years ago and now hes getting paid star power money for it???

    Wow HBO wow. Way to waste you budget on shitty fights like this.:patsch

    Couldn't agree more. This, to me, is one of the major reasons the big fights aren't getting made. Guys like Angulo see someone like Berto getting figures like this to fight a nobody, and turn down well-priced offers in lieu of low-risk fights. HBO (especially HBO) and Showtime need to be play hardball with these guys and tell them their days of feeding at the trough without putting the work against credible names are over.

    Wow thank God HBO made the incredibly smart and wise business decision to not "waste more money" on the HW division and instead bring us amazing fighters like Berto and Dawson and send them big 7 figure checks! Oh they're so smart.

    What makes me mad the most about it is that they could make so much more better fights with that kind of money.

    Especially at the lighterweights.

    Vasquez and Rafa marquez killed each other 3 times for this kind of money, and everyone around their weights were chasing them just for a piece of it too.



    Someone please tell me what has Berto done to be given such treatment, him and Dawson cant even fill up 1000 seats.

    The stacked cards that we could've had from gatdamn flyweights and bantamweights while Berto's been getting spoon fed...****ers. I hate it too.

    If nothing else, it's an awful business decision. There's no justification for paying this kind of money for a completely worthless fight - get a couple of the best fighters that weigh inder 122 and this would be enough to make the fight.

    If the Berto fight must be on tv, they shouldn't pay any more than 150k for it.

    If they give Berto that much money to fight a no name in a meaningless fight. I hope they won't be surprised when he turns down a similar payday to fight a much tougher opponent.
