    why so condescending today?

To your point, out of the names that HBO was tossing around, this was the best choice. After all, he did KO Corley earlier this year...not an amazing feat, but considering he just went the distance with Maidana, it's worthy of recognition. He does have the puncher's chance against Berto.

However, Berto clearly turned down the opportunity to revisit the fight with Mosley. That, amongst other things, is turning people off to Berto.

Dumb move for HBO. There money could be better spent elsewhere.

I think people are annoyed that HBO seem to be showing Berto preferential treatment, for whatever reason and, more to the point, his level of competition since he won his world title has been very poor. how long can you call yourself a world champion for, while not fighting any of the divisions top fighters? He should have rematched Collazo immediately, or at the least fought someone of comparable talent.

Because people can make their point about HBO doing what they always do without disrespecting a hard-working fighter who doesn't deserve to be treated like he's Mike McFail.

How many people in this thread called Hernandez a "no-name" or some other stupid thing like that? I'm quoting every single one of those posts and gloating if Berto gets KTFO.

Aydin refused to fight anywhere but Turkey, which seems to me like another way of saying "thanks but no thanks".

Berto can't really be blamed for this fight not happening.

You could put together a great card for that amount of money. This isn't even a fight that I would download the next day.

    Ähhhhhhhhh, yes he can.

He refused to take the money the offered him for a fight in the US. He's Berto's mandatory so sooner rather than later there will be a pursue bid and the fight will end up in Turkey.

BTW, I don't think that Aydin has a prayer in the fight.

I agree with that - I've never been impressed with Aydin at all. Whenever, wherever it happens, I think he'll lose handily.
