HBO is a show. They will show a sign on the screen and then Lederman will say the same thing as he has in 20 years, "also in the 12 and finally round"... The commentators talks one sided about the one fighter who will win. They all point out why.... In the first 3 round, they only commentating this fighters punch, even though he is the one that gets hit. Lederman will have the scorecard right, but every single round wrong....... In the 4 round its all excited and the fight clearly goes to the other fighter, but they will not notice that, because they talk about upcoming fights and about a commentary about a famous tennis player, golfer or baseball player. They will listen to one fighters cornerman, but comment as he was the other fighters cornerman even though every boxing fan recognize the right cornermans famous voice......... Every spectator in front of the TV now screams at the TV - "shut up idiots and watch the fight"..... Then they favors the other fighter, Many says - "he is starting to impose hes will", and Lederman sees a jab/left hook - "and an other one - and an other one - an and other one" (always 3 of them....)...... Then the first fighter fights back, but they don't recognizes that, because now they all have change favorite fighter and only focus and commentating him now........ If you fancy this - i can understand that you don't like showtime, where the commentators watch the fight and knows what the are talking about..!!
Tarver and Al Beristein are the best commentators, if they only had larry merchant it would have been the greatest team of all time.
jim bang bang lampley? the man who cried when cotto lost to margo and cried when mosley lost to cotto?
I must admit it did seem funny to watch a big fight on Showtime instead of HBO. And this is coming from a guy who enjoys the Showtime crew better than HBO's.
i liked it a lot i thought it would suck without the lampley and merchant double act but it was great, antonio tarver is the best commentator i've heard.
People are so ****ing dumb getting caught up in the HBO or SHO competition. It is like the people taking sides in the East vs West coast rap thing even though they had nothing to do with it but buy the songs and ****.
Everything you said is not true except that Lederman says the same thing fight after fight. But I like Harold and it wouldn't be same without him. And I actually agree with his scoring most of the times.
