You need to state all of the legal terms of the contract. How many years? Is there a minimal fight per year mandate? So on so forth etc etc etc.

Not only that but Wlad's legal team has to be pretty good. I'd imagine if there was an infraction upon the contract, they'd be owning HBO right now.

Arreola/Minto was an undercard fight on the Williams/Martinez card. They most definitely did not pay big bucks for it, and they also didn't have to pay the added expense to send all their equipment and people abroad.

Also, VK/Arreola got huge ratings, so it made sense for them to pickup another Arreola undercard fight in what everyone knew would be a punch out.

They have been passing on Pavlik fights, and he's another guy in their stable.

Highly doubtful HBO would put itself in breach.

I subscribe to HBO and even though that fight was an undercard they did promote it pretty heavily. Also, HBO doesn't have a contract with Arreola as they do with Wlad, which means that they are not financially obligated to show his fights.

Absolutely. This isn't compared to sending a film crew and such and such to wherever Wlad is fighting right now for a fight that might go kersplat.

I'm going to have to ask where you got the "financially obligated" thing from. I'm looking for SOME kind of link and I can't find it so where'd you hear about this?

I disagree. Arreola, Haye and Povetkin all would be more compelling matchups. Or, maybe you're right and HBO does buy out the contract. If it makes financial sense for them to do that, that'll be the move to make.

They are trying to please the most subscribers possible (and get new subs), and most people don't give a **** about Wladimir/Chambers. At least not as much as Pavlik/Martinez.

Their contracts aren't based on specific fights, they simply buy a number of fights. With Wlad I believe it was an 8 or a 10 fight deal after he beat Byrd for the title. So, yes, they either have to show those fights or buy out his contract. Maybe that's what they will do. I suppose if his fights are losing money, they probably should have done it a long time ago.

That HBO has a contract to show Wlad fights? I believe it was after the Byrd fight that he signed it. I'll look for it and post a reply later today. I about 90 percent sure he has a current contract with them. I do know for a fact that he signed a mult-fight deal with them years ago right before the Sanders loss (typical HBO timing). Then I believe he resigned after he beat Chris Byrd for the title. I will look for it.

I was wrong. Apparently, the Klitschko contract did expire a few fights before Chagaev. That certainly explains a lot.

If Chambers finds a way to upset Wlad or if the fight turns out to be spectacular, HBO will have egg on its face. But when was the last time either scenario happened with Klitschko?

It don't matter what you want. Like it or not, he keeps dominating and winning.

HBO are no dummies and they know it'll just be another one-sided fight. They are not about to change to the Home Beatdown Office. Besides, Chambers doesn't seem to have much of a following.
