the man is ****ing dull to watch. I don't care if he is the greatest fighter that ever lived he is like watching paint dry. The is the art of the fight and the more it looks like a fight the more emotionally involved we get with a fighter. Boxing is a spectacle, where its all on the line and to have some little guy, cerebrally jabbing and running for 12 in a tap fest, is not what I want to pay money for at HBO. Give me color, give me excitement, no I don't want to see bums brawling, but for the money you have to bring it and take people out and make people give a ****. I don't blame Arum, its all supply and demand and being a colorful exciting fighter that people want to see.

I haven't seen him fight, but he has a number of KOs against guys with decent records ... what makes him so boring?

If there were no place for skilled fighters in America, then Mayweather wouldn't be the biggest star in the sport and Ward wouldn't be getting such a big push from HBO. It's not just Rigo's style that is a problem, it's his lack of charisma or a built in fanbase. They're not going to let a guy like that continually upset the apple cart.

Very true. And Rigo only has 12 fights. When ward and Floyd had 12 fights they were not that popular yet either. If rigo makes it to 25-0 like Ward and floyd. They will appreciate him by then. He has actually allready done OK, not a lot of fighters get a shot at the likes of Donaire on their 12th fight. Give Rigo time, and he will be on PPV making the big money too. (if he keeps winning)

No way. I don't care how dominant he will be, he is in a smaller weight class and he has no natural fanbase. Blame the American-Cubans for not caring.

Correction - When Floyd played the good guy, no one payed him any attention and Larry would take pop shots at him every chance he got during interviews when he would be little floyd because he stutter during interviews.
But once floyd starting talking **** to everyone, is when people would pay to see him lose.
The jury is still out on Ward, He is marketable because he articulates himself well as a boxing analyst.

He is small at 122, and besides not many fighters have made PPV under 130 unless they were Mexican.

Anyone who finds Floyd dull doesnt appreciate good boxing. You can be a brawler and exciting liek Pacquiao but look what happened to him. look what happened to Cotto, or even Roy Jones. Mayweather is smart. so is Hopkins. He is the greatest. Appreciate it for what it is. No wonder boxing is loxing fans. People like RafaelGOnzal watch this sport. i wish for true fans. If Mayweather was so dull he wouldnt be the greatest P4P boxer of our generation.

If that the case I can find color and excitement in pitting a Pitbull vs a German Shepard..
The art of boxing to me is overcoming your limitation. how does a fighter slower ,and possibly weaker then his opponent overcome his opponent physical advantages. Do you use skill, heart , courage or a well calculated mind? This what I want to witness, after all not everyone can have the power of Mike Tyson, the speed of Roy Jones Jr or physical size and strength of the Klits. If this was the case fight would become incredibly predictable.
Like food I like to have a variety of flavors, when it comes to the art of fighting.
