    Exciting fight to watch, really gutsy display by Smith he's tough and game as hell. Ultimately Munguia's power and relentlessness took a lot out of him as the fight progressed but he started off really well. Munguia has heavy hands, a great engine and he just keeps on coming. His defence is terrible though and he definitely needs to work on that. I think Munguia's mum is that gypsy women from Drag Me to Hell.

    Munguia needs to quit looking for the KO an work on his fundamental. Size advantage and power will only get you so far.

    Hope his team learn from this and looking forward to seeing more of him.

    Hurd got that reach and can also play the weight game as he is young
    Hurd, like GGG, Canelo and Jacobs, would see them bombs coming a mile away and counter the FK out this kid at this level in the sport

    And clear headed too. Admitting that Smith made him show his lack of experience at times but believes that that will only make him a better fighter .

    On a side note, Smith is a classy guy with a top-notch heart, he took much more punishment than Matthysse did last week but never once wavered.

    Yo Smith was doing just as much dirt in there tonight trying to show alpha male and most refs would have taken a point from him as well

    Parting thoughts:


    The same guys that overrated Mungia last fight will now underrate him.

    Mungia is a fun to watch all-action fighter.

    Beefy vs Ali would have been a pretty good fight.

    he still has a lot of upside, he just needs to learn better habits. i saw a little bit of alcazar, but not enough to prepare him for the other belt holders. that double left hook to the head he was using when beefy refused to move his elbow from his liver, that was alcazar. he needs to learn some fluid footwork and vary his rhythm, both in his legs and punches. garcia could teach him how to tighten his hooks and nacho could give him the footwork. the raw material is there, you just need the right craftsman to work it.

    His body shots landed sounded sick in surround sound tonight!!!! His defense and wide loophole punching will get him clipped at the next level. He needs to train and focus or his glory days will be at fighting C and C plus level guys like Smith
