    I like both of them.
HBO has a more "flashy" presentation. But a prefer showime commentating.

I'll be watching the Showtime card this weekend, mainly because Guzman one of my favorite fighters.

Ahh.. To some extent I agree that Bernstein is knownledgable, but in his own "I'm smarter than the audience" sort of way, and in that sense he's a poor broadcaster. Jim Lampley is far more intelligent and much sharper than Bernstein, and understands how to reach every member of the audience with a down to earth sophistication.. Although I agree with those who have mentioned Lampley's recent/collective behavior, I'm pretty disgusted right now. Lampley is shopworn (and acting like a Nazi for some reason), he was in his prime back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Just listen to that call from Trinidad/Hopkins. It was as epic as the fight itself.

Bernstein is just too random and iffy about the things he chooses to highlight. He tries to take people on a little trip into his perception on what's happening, but he always ends up telling his version of the story, and not what's actually taking place in the big picture. He also will continue to repeat bad information, even if it's clearly been contradicted over the course of the fight.

Showtime is definitely better than HBO. They have neutral, as can be, commentating. They re-air fights. The have better fights from up and coming fighters. Hell, they put out a great product.

HBO's budget is bigger, and you can certainly tell that in the production. However, I find more bias in the HBO commentators and Showtime has certainly at least held it's own lately in terms of matchups and compelling fights.

I'm going to end up cutting either Showtime or HBO out of my cable bill, and I'm leaning towards cutting out HBO, especially since The Wire doesn't come on anymore. And I wouldn't be doing that if Showtime wasn't putting out a good boxing product.

Dude Al Bernstein is OBVIOUSLY the most knowledgeable commentator out there. Though Jim Gray is total **** for interviews, rude, fake, and he looks funny too. I prefer him to Max Kellerman though.

Showtime's production values are lower, but seriously, who the **** gives a **** about production values? I want to see good fights, and Showtime airs more even matches than does HBO. HBO's great if you want to watch big names and don't care if it's a huge mismatch. In the meantime, Showtime delivered us the Marquez-Vasquez trilogy, the Corrales-Castillo fights, and a number of other close and thrilling fights.

I'm sorry, unless you just don't have the money to pay an extra 10 bucks a month, if you're a real boxing fan, you should have Showtime. Their fights are usually significantly more competitive than HBO's.

Lower production values = more money to spend on the fights themselves.

I watch them both ,,but i think HBO is by far better , basically all the better boxers and "superstars" of boxing are sign and fight on HBO. How can you mad at that?

Lets put it like this, if you was a boxer ,what will be one of your goals ? to me will be to fight reguraly on HBO its like if you area basketball player you want to reach the NBA, mainly bacause the exposure bacause you know that European leagues are as good and competitive as the NBA but doesnt have the glamour.

Man, i think that is SO true. You just listen to this guy and the more you listen to him, the more you realize that this guy is on top of his game. He seems to know all of the little subtleties in a fight that you would never notice unless if he pointed them out to you.
