    EXACTLY!

HBO has the better production and presentation but their fights have been more like freak shows of late. You take away the big name fighters HBO has under contract and Showtime has been just as good in showing fights that count and matter.

At least showtime dosen't make us pay for a main event that dosen't even have a belt on the line.

HBO has the far bigger budget, and better production, but also is prone to putting on grotesque mismatches, crappy PPV fights, and giving fighters multi-fight deals which includes some awful matches.

Showtime, as a whole, is more likely to have good competitive matches. At least in the last few years.

I'd be pissed to bro, Campbell Vs. Guzman will be a good one.
    (+ Bradley's 1st title defense....)

They're both good but in terms of quality HBO definitely wins. The commentators I like SHOWTIME's crew more, it's close but SHOWTIME wins that for me.

I see it the other way around...Showtime is more boxing/technical; Hbo is more personality/gossip...

Showtime talks strategy while Hbo talks about the personal lives of the boxers...

HBO pays more money per fight, but competitive fights between two superstars are usually too expensive to not have on PPV, unless someone pays a huge site fee like in Calzaghe-Hopkins. Simple as that. Of course the stars go to HBO, because they pay more, but the stars tend to put on crappier fights because HBO still chooses to pay them for meaningless mandatory bouts and the like.

Interesting take, I have to agree with alot of this. This is what I'm talking about as well. You just have to look a little bit deeper to see this stuff.
