We all know that HBO boxing is closing shop and some of us are even happy to see the back of Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman, but what about the rest of the crew? I don't speak Spanish, but Chon Romero's resume sounds legit. He basically sounds like a Panamanian Bert Sugar. He ran the major Spanish boxing magazine Guantes (Gloves) for years. He wrote books about Duran and Chavez, and contributes to various Spanish language boxing sites.

My question to you is, what happens to him now? He's 78, so does he just retire? And if you speak Spanish, how well did he rock the mic? Was he better than Lampley and Kellerman? How did he stack up against other English language competitors like say Teddy Atlas and the British crews from Sky or Matchroom?

I guess, I'm sort of curious about the state of Spanish boxing commentary, since I've heard that Barrera and Chavez Sr will do radio or Boxeo Azteca for instance.
