Looked like a good one on paper, only time I've been disappointed in Perez was his fight with Kamegai where he moved too much (tactically it was the right move but as a spectacle it was disappointing)

The Mechanic looking like El Maestro in there, with a little James Toney mixed in.

    1-4 Mikhaylenko

    Round 4

Pérez is shoving Mikhaylenko off with his elbows & forearms and throwing hooks and looping rights in the same manner. The aping doesn't suit him, though - Pérez's game is straight punches. Mikhaylenko is firing lead rights at the face, bowing in low, swooping to one side and continuing his barrage of looping body shots, climbing up top while using serpentine neck stretches to deny Pérez any touches. Mikhaylenko starting to mix in a very effective jab & chopping right on the face, delivered from a turned-away crouch.

    10-9 Mikhaylenko

    40-36 Mikhaylenko

Who is the better Welterweight Russian prospect Mikhaylenko or Ponomarev who just beat Zewski?

    Round 5

Pérez is throwing left hooks while backing into the ropes and then pinching Mikhaylenko in between his arms, clasping to hold Mikhaylenko still. Mikhaylenko wriggles free and throws lead rights to gain entry, then gets off bursts of infighting before letting Pérez hold and taking a breather. Some wild shots by Mikhaylenko - lead uppercuts from too far out, and one bolo left aimed poorly at the head, but he isn't paying for any of his mistakes as Pérez is too intimidated to commit to counters, and has absolutely no faith left in being able to find Mikhaylenko's head.

    10-9 Mikhaylenko

    50-45 Mikhaylenko

I just read that Mikhaylenko is managed by Egis Klimas (who also handles Kovalev & Lomachenko) so after this, his first big name win, look for him to be moved into a big opportunity...

Denis Berinchyk is making his pro debut later this month, fighting at 140 but could be worth mentioning for the future as a Welterweight...
