    Round 2

Salinas is caught lunging with a lazy jab by a BIG RIGHT HAND and dumped on the seat of his trunks. Avila waits patiently for Salinas, grinning while sitting on the canvas, to rejoin the fray, then explodes on him, pumping in nonstop power shots with both hands. Several catch Salinas full in the face and make him blink and flinch, holding on for dear life. Avila may be at risk of punching himself out, but wants to get rid of Salinas in this round. Lots and lots of holding by Salinas, refusing to let go when the ref asks, to such an extent the ref has to have a word demanding that Salinas listen for his instructions. Salinas is able to spoil until the bell.

    10-8 Avila

    19-18 Avila

Avila was probably better off having took his time.

I'm not surprised in the least. Avila's record doesn't really show it, but he does have a bit of pop. He stopped DDLM early. And remember, Salinas was knocked out by a nobody just two fights ago.

I recognize the face now after having a gander on Google images. I think the only time I've seen him fight was against Herrera though, and even then I'm not sure if I saw the whole fight.

    Round 3

Salinas is having a go now, throwing big right hands at Avila and then yanking himself back out of range. Avila is timing his exits with left hooks on the cheek. Both landing well. Pace slows in the final minute, both cautious. Avila circles and stalks. Body jab by Salinas, holding once close. Several pecking jabs and sweeping hooks on the guard by Avila from outside. Lunging right by Avila, pushed down by the left forearm of Salinas and nearly sent headlong into the canvas off a guiding shove.

    10-9 Avila, barely

    29-27 Avila

Better round for Salinas but I think Avila edged it.

    Round 4

Salinas is throwing long right hands from outside and then getting his arms entangled with Avila's up close. Jabs by Avila, blocked. Pinball-launcher rights by Avila, pulling back and telegraphing as he loads up, dodged as Salinas dives off to one side. Nice defense and countering now by Salinas. Avila is being shown up a little, devoid of answers when faced with some pure boxing. Avila circles, at first slowly and then picking up his pace while turning Salinas hoping to catch a side angle to punch. Salinas is savvy to what he's doing and leaps at him abruptly with a discouraging left hook that doesn't land but wasn't mean to.

    10-9 Salinas

    38-37 Avila
