HBO Latino is showing a full replay of last night's card.

The 1st round of Diaz vs. Alvarado began just now.

Jo-Jo looked uncomfortable at times with Alvarado's volume and indefatigability.

I wasn't that impressed with his performance either.

I was at the fight and to me it seemed like Jo Jo had issues with Alvarado size.

Perhaps Jo Jo would do better at 122.

The was a definitive strength difference between the two.

I had the fight for Alvarado in a close fight.

Thing is, that was Diaz's ninth consecutive time coming in over the 122lb limit. Can he even make super bantam anymore? :huh

I don't know. He just doesn't seem like a featherweight to me. Perhaps he's still waiting for his man strength.

Very well could be it. He's very young, just 22.

His punches are explosive and great combinations. Reminds me of Canelos offense.

He looks like he should be carrying a lunchbox and wearing a Beaver Cleaver hat.

Michael Pérez seems like he ought to be matched a little tougher by now. It's been 3½ years since his loss to Figueroa (which in hindsight isn't any great shame considering Fig went on to become WBC lightweight champ and is still undefeated) and has since picked up some nice enough victories.

He beat Maldonado Jr., Carcamo (which looked better with age when Carcamo advanced into the Boxcino finals by knocking out the unbeaten Neequaye and outpointing Gonzalez) and Miguel Acosta, who's shot but still carries a name.

Why is he still in with the likes of Luis Sánchez? GBP is wasting his talents and he's starting to rot on the shelf, going by his lukewarm motivation to impress last night.

Did they really introduce Mauricio Herrera as "the fighting pride of Riverside, CA" last night??!

Um, someone named Jose Manuel Lopez might have something to say about that..

    Round 1

Herrera is playing keep-away, making Lundy miss with the lunging right jab. Herrera is leaning back coyly, very relaxed, just sagging and shifting his weight in reverse in a slow teetering motion. Herrera bats down some of Lundy's jabs in the air with his left glove raking out. Herrera is pulling his neck to make all of Lundy's fed-in jabs (delivered with feet planted, no step-through) come inches shy of his forehead. Herrera turns his left bicep up against Lundy's quick barking flurry. Herrera is walking forward, daring Lundy to lead, then sinking low to dodge the left hand as it shoots up from the rear hip. Herrera very calm. Lundy is flipping in straight lefts on the navel and left uppercuts on the chest behind the southpaw jab as they circle at mid-range. Herrera rushes in and clinches Lundy with underhooks. Ten second clap, I'm not sure either has landed a punch. The crowd is booing. They miss jabs together, past one another's heads, and entangle. Lundy tries lifting Herrera with a left uppercut on the belly. Herrera stuffs it.

10-10, nobody landed a damn thing.
