Campa is banging the body hard. Herrera doing more posing than anything, lots of defensive movement and show-me jabs, but letting Campa walk him down and be first consistently. Campa missing when he starts to headhunt, but wisely investing a lot of his efforts into body-punching where his success rate is higher.

Round 3

Campa is charging in and forcing Herrera to swap jabs with him, both landing stiffly on the chin. Herrera sharp when he uses the jab while moving laterally, but keeping it holstered. A few counter uppercuts by Herrera as Campa dives in low on him and comes up punching.

Sergey Kovalev was (still is) sitting ringside - no doubt here to scout his new IBF #1 contender.

 

Round 4

Campa is starting to tag and hurt Herrera frequently, doubling up on the overhand or line drive right hand on the face and wedging inside as Herrera runs out of room against the ropes and fails to hold effectively. Campa is pushing his gloves into Herrera's arms, vaulting off & pinning Herrera in place on the ropes momentarily, and using his buoyant momentum to load up on an uppercut and left hook. Nothing but jabs by Herrera - crisply thrown and nice-looking but just a drop in the bucket against Campa's offense.

Round 5

Campa is stalking, diving, breaching into Herrera's wheelhouse, and landing. Herrera just fleeing, jabbing, and holding.

Round 6

Campa is throwing jabs at the head from the crouch and then combinations to body and head as he gets Herrera nearly backed into the ropes. Herrera is laughing off Campa's shots but not doing much to abate them or respond.

Round 7

Campa is following Herrera around the ring, jabbing and sweeping the right from his low stance. Herrera is darting from side to side and pushing out with lead rights and left jabs to slow Campa down more than anything. Herrera is pawing his jab as he uses the four-corner defense, just pumping into the air with no intent to land and turning within the square to keep his back to open space.

Round 8

Campa is throwing heavy left hooks downstairs. Campa is hurting Herrera again. Lots of grabbing and leaning by Herrera, leading to punches landing behind the head. Campa shoeshines the body and snaps Herrera's head back as he brings the straight volleys up to his face as Herrera just stands by the ropes.

Round 9

Campa is spamming the right hand up top, going for broke, showing Herrera no respect (which, truth be told, Herrera hasn't earned, throwing nothing but defensive jabs). Herrera tries holding him at bay with some low-flung left hands while circling. Campa is putting together right hands and left hooks, missing more, but causing Herrera to clinch almost constantly as he begins to fear the stopping power of Campa. Herrera is caught by a lead overhand right, left hook and another overhand right in one sequence as he backs straight into a corner. Herrera ensnares Campa's arms in his own. Tying up is all Herrera is doing well at this point.
