 Are you kidding me? You realize a LOT of boxing fans sell DVD sets of entire careers of fighters? Should people just wait until they are eventually available? :huh

This is great news, I'll look forward to all episodes. Was wondering lately why they stopped this great show.

I am aware Jones moved back down. So what? That takes away from a feat he was the first to do in a hundred years?

Look, if you are going to act like the 'bigger' poster here, cut the snide comments. Just makes you look like an *******. And that was posted fully calm.

If Ruiz was such a joke he wouldn't have went on to beat Rahman, Golota, Oquendo, NC against a roided up Toney and a final robbery loss to Valuev. So please, **** right off with this "It was Ruiz" bull****, you're only going to impress the many cockroaches and trolls with that comment. What Roy Jones did in his move to heavyweight was legendary whether worthless filth like you want to admit it or not.

First off a you have to have two ATG fighters or for the fight to have been a massive event that effected the world as was the case with Holmes vs Cooney and Don King building it up with racial overtones to sell the fight and make it huge.

Holmes vs Cooney was a huge event, thus its a legendary night.

Despite the racial buildup of it, Holmes and Cooney are today close friends!
    Thats a legendary night!

Some of the request in this thread like Lewis vs Tyson?
A heavyweight in his prime vs a hasbeen allready twice dismanteled a few years earlier by an aging Holyfield!
That my friends is not a legendary night.:nono

    Nothing legendary about it.

Against Roy Jones Ruiz was being verbally admonished throughout the fight not to think about falling into a clinch and holding Roy Jones.
    "No rough housing allowed."

Against everybody else, Ruiz had free reign to do whatever the hell he pleased. Clinch, hold, claw, scratch, headbutt, fake low blows.....the list goes on and on.
Ruiz made Bernard Hopkins look like a pure clean fighter, and thats saying something.

The only thing legendary about Jones vs Ruiz is that Jones was issued a referee to protect him.
    True legend! :deal

Well said.:deal I tried to stress the fact that these fights they show in this series need to have "meaning" behind them. Just being two known fighters in an entertaining fight does NOT make it legendary.

  11. Oh my god this thread has really drawn out the mouth breathers.

I keep getting called names in here for having an opinion lol and my opinions aren't even that serious. We are all armchair Presidents of HBO Programming in here aren't we? I happen to think I would do better than you and excitable Lance when it comes to Legendary Nights but I've said it before and I'll say it again. To each their own ok.

It's not only about having an opinion, it's how one expresses it. Not rocket science man... BTW, why not post a rebuttel? Surely as Scar pointed out, it wasn't such an easy job to clearly beat Ruiz, and many top HW's have tried and failed. Even Holy, who wasn't totaly shot yet, struggled w/ Ruiz.

And you call me excitable because for some reason, you prefer to think of others as mad? :huh

If we're going on how posters are perceived., then I guees you're a chick who's on her period? Because that's how you are acting. Of course, since it's only text on the screen, and emotions are not exactly translatable to just text, we don't know. But at least I can admit that. You prefer to play the "I can tell how you're feeling" game...

  13. Yeah I prefer to think of all others as mad. :patsch

No bro, just the ones who jump right to the name calling and THE caps EVERY other WORD to MAKE their POINTS stick OUT better. Even though you are some random ******* on a forum, you are still human. When humans interact with other humans, emotions matter and they come into play. All I have to go on as far as how you are feeling is how your text was entered. The tell-tail signs are all there. You are clearly mad

Ok but even if you aren't the least bit excited or mad... even if your problem is just that you type out your rants and post them without proofreading them or without being concerned whether or not your response will make you sound like an excited, angry mouth breather... your opinions are your opinions and some of them are wrong. And with over 32,000 posts, I'm sure I'm not the first ONE you've TALKED like THIS at who didn't mistake you as a ranting mouth breather. Ok fine, I'm willing to accept that you might actually use your nostrils. That's not really the point.

As for the Roy vs. Ruiz fight... I'll stick with my opinion of "Meh." It was definitely a meaningful fight with a great build up. It's just that the things that happened with Roy and Ruiz after that, in my humble opinion, degraded the meaning of that fight.

Man, I did NOT anticipate lingering in this thread, of all threads, for this long.

I don't refer to others as mad. So...sorry? I see you're happy to use the term 'mouth breather', think I'm the 3rd or 4th person you've used that with today. We'll see what your daily insult calendar comes up with tomorrow I guess.

    :good
