It's almost for certain that it did over a million buys based Schaefer's recents comments. But anyway we'll find out soon since HBO is supposed to release the numbers this morning according to Kevin Iole.

Hell anything 750K and up is good. 1.6 mil would be sick. I thought the fight would only do about 550K.

What we do know for sure was that it did over 600k at least. I think that is superb for a MISMATCH fight don't you?:think

If it did a million then it would be even better, it shows people are still paying attention to the sport.

Out of curiosity where did you hear it did 1.6 million. Source please:huh

Look, we know you are trying your best to hate on Floyd, but this isn't the way to go. You are just coming off to fans as nothing more than a ***** riding Pac fan lol..., and a bandwagon PAc fan at that lol...

    Mayweather-Marquez Hits 1 Million Pay-Per-View Buys

NEW YORK -- HBO Sports reported today that one million pay-per-view buys were generated from last Saturday’s welterweight fight between Floyd Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The fight was promoted by Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.

The one million buy total represents the highest performing boxing pay-per-view event in 2009 and generated $52 million in pay-per-view revenue. The million buys include 525,000 from cable homes and 475,000 from satellite homes. It is only the fifth time in boxing pay-per-view history that a non-heavyweight event has attained the one million buy mark. Mayweather, a bona fide superstar, returned to the ring after a 21-month absence and showed no signs of rust in scoring a dominating victory. He has now participated in two events that have reached the one million buy mark.

“Sept. 19 was an event that connected with sports fans across the country,” said Mark Taffet of HBO Pay-Per-View. “Floyd Mayweather has clearly reinforced his standing as a top attraction and fans are excited about his return to the sport.”

Mayweather vs. Marquez will be replayed this Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10:00 p.m. ET/ 7:00 p.m. PT on HBO. The 12-round unanimous decision triumph by Mayweather will be paired with the live heavyweight title fight featuring Vitali Klitschko and Cristobal Arreola from Los Angeles.

Dan Rafael said he would shave his head if the fight did over 1 mill. It's being reported at exactly 1 mill. I wonder if he'll say it's a push and back out.

Unlike recent horrendous undercards, HBO actually put on a good undercard for us this time aswell.

I think a million was expected, Floyd is a draw.

I'm wondering what will be the response to Mayweather going after that WBC title that he vacated ... Berto has had a couple of defenses ... he's making a little bit of noise and he's starting to become a new face ... he's not elite but he's a world champion.

Berto tries to fight like Floyd a bit and he considers himself a smart fight like Floyd ...

"A guy who can beat Pacquiao would be someone like me and Floyd, smart fighters" ... ~ Andre Berto

Do you guys think he will be up to fighting his idol ... and will the stage be too big for Berto?
