I must have been bitten about 6 times by what I can only describe as a GANG OF GNATS.

    Wtf is going on?

Barrera won the 1st round too, but because of KD I gave it to Smith 10-9.
    Smith is looking spent.

    R1 Smith Jr. 10-8
    R2 Barrera 10-9
    R3 Barrera 10-9
    R4 Barrera 10-9
    R5 Barrera 10-9
    R6 Barrera 10-9
    R7 Barrera 10-9
    R8 Barrera 10-9

Smith has no defense to stop right hands so Barrera can land big ones whenever he needs points. These right hands have decent power behind them so they hurt too on top of that. Smith isn't doing much. He's going to have to find something to land his big shots.

    78 - 73 Barrera.

Body language has Smith looking like a beaten man.

Barrera is dominating while just crusing in first gear. But punishing Smith more than he did earlier.

Barrera might be able to secure the stoppage if he puts a few more shots together.

It's not that Smith is spent. To me he is slow and worn out from eating clean hard shots for 8 rnds. Barrera has worked the head and body all 8 rnds and those are hard clean shots he is landing.

Difference between a top contender and a fringe contender tonight. And I say that with a ton of respect. It's an accomplishment that Smith made it this far. At this level though, schooling matters.

The next shot Barrera stuns Smith with he needs to put a combination together and get this stoppage, even if he's winning every round why leave this guy around and run the risk of him landing that monster shot that puts Sullivan to sleep.

    Round 1 Smith 10-8
    Round 2 Barrera 10-9
    Round 3 Smith 10-9 Close
    Round 4 Barrera 10-9
    Round 5 Barrera 10-9
    Round 6 Barrera 10-9
    Round 7 Barrera 10-9
    Round 8 Barrera 10-9
    Round 9 Barrera 10-9 Close

Joe landed a few nice rights that shook up Barrera, but not enough.
