    Round 1 Smith 10-8
    Round 2 Barrera 10-9
    Round 3 Smith 10-9 Close
    Round 4 Barrera 10-9
    Round 5 Barrera 10-9

Joe getting outboxed, but Barrera is still cautious as hell. It was a sloppy round with neither man doing a whole lot.

    R1 Smith Jr. 10-8
    R2 Barrera 10-9
    R3 Barrera 10-9
    R4 Barrera 10-9
    R5 Barrera 10-9

Barrera landing clean right hands, that's there for him all day and it's going to take its toll. Barrera still committed to body punches. Barrera got hit in an exchange that looked like he felt. Smith's power is still there he needs to start landing his right hand.

Brilliant, technical performance by Barrera so far. Times Smith's jab, finds him around his guard with looping rights and uppercuts, and that's between dictating distance with his jab, and tying up inside when he needs to. 4-1 Barrera.

4-1 Barrera. Not sure why Smith wasn't sent to a better trainer.

Smith needs to do something fast while he still has the KO power in his punches, Barrera is gonna have him wore down and on the verge of stoppage in another 2 rounds.

Joe is receiving a boxing lesson. He better use the jab. Can't bomb everyone out.

The fight won't last more than a few rounds at this pace.

Maybe Smith is hoping the mid-card title champion will receive a gift decision in Cali.

These underdog, out of nowhere types can be loyal to a fault. Kinda understandable, what world class trainer really invests in part time fighters on the way up?

Smith has a good chin that uppercut would have dropped most.
