    I don't agree that Ali took the 8th. Cotto evaded a lot of his punches, and came back with counters and jabs and kept the initiative even after Ali hurt him.

    Cotto hasn't seized the fight as much as I thought he did in the 7th, but he's outboxed Ali and won the 8th and 9th when Ali was moving and boxing well himself.

    Cotto is following, hooking off the jab and ducking & slipping when Ali pokes outward with the jab off the ropes. Ali holds and hits with his left glove wedged into Cotto's neck and right coming up for a soft uppercut before letting go. Cotto flurries in response. Cotto explodes from a partial crouch but only commits to a couple of punches before pulling one and posing, conserving energy. Cotto darts in and lands a left hook, right hand counter from Ali. Very tight round, Cotto giving it away to save his strength for the championship stretch. Ali the better ring generalship and, quantitatively, more connects with the jab than Cotto had period (despite Lampley's questionable CompuBox stats)
