Cotto is jabbing with Ali, coming forward, curled forward and balled up like a hedgehog. Ali steps back and lines up a 1-2 and Cotto is hurt! Ali keeps drilling with straight punches, putting a staggering Cotto into the ropes. Big surge by Cotto, knocking Ali back with a counter left hook, partially blocked. Ali down, ruled a foot tangle by the ref although he thought for a moment himself that he was legitimately dropped. They finish the round both cautiously jabbing and circling.

Looked like a retirement party cherrypick gone wrong! Ali had Cotto stunned and wobbled! Then as the round went by and Cotto pressured him and put together sharp shots Ali seemed to wilt. Ali doesn't have the heart! After he hurt Cotto and Cotto came back he didn't respond but let Cotto take over. Cotto wants this, Ali doesn't it seems.

 

offically sure a punch landed and he slipped no punch landed. you are able to take a knee without a punch landing and it's ruled a knockdown but Im fine with the call.

Cotto is diving in with lead rights on the belly or high line-drive jabs doubled up top, some of them just radar-scrambling wrist-flicks, but flinching away every time Ali throws a counter jab. Cotto wary of the Ali counter right hand. Ali easily batting Cotto across the right ear and temple with his left hook while dancing around him, keeping away from the corners and ropes. Ali making contact with cat's-paw hooks, not sitting down on anything, just effectively point-scoring. Cotto marching forward but not reaping much profit from his pressure.
