Expect an announcement by HBO/Turner Sports in the upcoming weeks.

It's funny how a war within the sport is doing more positive than negative. That's boxing for you guys.

Espinoza made it clear early in 2012 that they would never work with Top Rank. He hasn't signed one new fight with them. This is what happens when you hire a former GB lawyer as your sports president. I guess Showtime knew what they were getting and now this transition is sealed with both camps at opposite networks. This will only hurt the promoters, fighters and fans in the long term. We've been through similar trends before, hopefully this is short lived.

the thing is, moonves (cbs ceo, parent company of showtime) are friends. he was the one that told arum about schaeffer and espinoza's deal about getting all the fight date in return for delivering floyd over a year ago.

if this doesn't work, espinoza will get canned, gbp will end up doing indian casino's and espn.

Arum himself said that he's tried calling Showtime to discuss arranging some fights with them but they never return calls. Espinoza is clearly in tight with Schaefer and GBP and HBO have rightly decided to terminate the relationship than look for GBP leftovers as Showtime will now have first priority...

What will I ever do now that I can't see Golden Boy fighters like Seth Mitchell on HBO? :rofl:patsch

Good riddance they have been putting on non-competitive Golden Boy cards since 2008.

Most of Golden Boy's fighters have been exposed anyway.

Isn't the Garcia/Judah winner supposed to fight the Matthysse/Peterson winner? Barring any upset we will see Matthysse vs Garcia this year.
