    That's dumb

These are probably the hardest working fighters today and more people should be seeing that.

The mainstream of people, not hardcore boxing fans, think that they are watching the best when they watch mayweather:patsch its not their fault. That is what people think because of the 24/7s, Countdowns and the trash that they talk.

HBO should be showing people who the real Champions are.

Cotto vs Margarito [Fight of the Year]

Mayweather only fills places with his opponents fans not his own. I guess you didn't watch the Hatton fight because Mayweather only had like 5 fans.

Uhh...well, when they watched Mayweather-De la Hoya or Mayweather-Hatton (to mention examples from last year), they were watching the best fighter. In Mayweather-De la Hoya, they were watching the best fighter in the world against arguably the best at 154. And, when watching Mayweather-Hatton, they were watching the best fighter in the world against the best at 140.

Cotto is elite, and one of the best, but do you really think Margarito is in that group?

FYI. From Steve Kim's aritcle: I understand now that HBO might be reconsidering its decision not to go with a 'Countdown' show for Margarito-Cotto. :happy

:patsch Obviously you clearly didn't read what I said, HATTON AND DELAHOYA GOT THERE BIGGEST PAYDAYS FIGHTING HIM. Who cares about the Hatton fans that night? They all went home with there tails and bottles between there legs anyway. I'm talking about the money he made:deal Hatton NEVER made as much as he did till he fought Floyd.

Hatton actually made more than Floyd in their fight. So did Oscar and Gatti

HBO just doesnt get it sometimes, they should be highlighting the fighters who take on the best competition as often as reasonably possible.

By ignoring these true warriors they do a huge disservice to the sport on the whole.

Maybe because neither boxer are Black enough or American enough for the HBO backed Congressional Black Caucus.

Or maybe it has something to do with Golden Boy Productions not being in the spot light or about Margarito bloodying Oscar's nose up in Big Bear; or Maybe Oacar and Richard overheard their wives cheering for Miguel on to many occasions.

    :huh

This is complete BULL****. I really hope HBO gets word of the OUTRAGE from boxing fans and they wind up doing one. There personalities may not be exciting but the way they fight is exciting. And thats what matters most. There are some serious ****ING IDIOTS running their boxing department if this is true. This is how you cultivate new boxing fans. They can make ammends with the legions of niave "boxing fans" who were subjected to a 24/7 SERIES on DLH-Mayweather only to plop down $50 to watch a boring ass fight.

There is some serious buzz going on with this fight and its only MAY! There is an opportunity for HBO to promote a fight that will come through in terms of hype and entertainment value.

An email to Doug Fisher (of Maxboxing who is always on the Countdown shows) is definitely in order. I know its a long shot but at least there is someone out there who can at least try to talk to HBO execs and say listen...I really think you guys should consider doing this.

This is what you call a travesty.
