"Boxing fans, rumors abound that HBO is going to do a Lightheavyweight tourney!!!" According to Rick Glasers twitter. Lets say Dawson takes care of Hopkins we could have a nice little 8 man tournement going; Dawson vs Pascal II (WBC) Shumenov vs Erdei (WBA) Cleverly vs Sukhotsky (WBO) Cloud vs Campillo II (IBF)
Like Dawson will get involved with that. He wouldn't face Cloud or Diaconu when they were mandatories.
Rick Glaser also said Floyd was fighting Spadafora then said Floyd is fighting Morales, then said Floyd is fighting Gurrerro. The guy is a liar and makes stuff up you should see his facebook. He is Don Kings boy.
Although flawed i enjoyed the Super Six tournament and i think that there should be a tournament in each division with the top fighters proving who really is the best. Won't happen as the promoters won't let it but we can all dream.
King must have been licking his lips with all the **** in Germany, it totally distracted from the robbery in his own card.
He also said Khan was fighting Dejan Zavec for the WBA interim title. Would not take any notice of what he says.
I agree. No need for the tourney. Just make the fights and offer the winners less money for other opponents - it'll most likely take care of itself. Pascal would beat Dawson again I feel.
I think HBO will understand that the super 6 was a tad wrong fundermentally. While i enjoyed the tournament, it was far too long. It will be better if HBO follow the Bantam model of doing a 4 man competition.
Some good things did come out of the Super Six I think. I hope they learn from the mistakes of last time though. Such a tournament certainly does need to be run over a shorter period for a start.
These Tournaments never happen. They said they were going to do a LWW and LW tournament as well, but they never happened.
I'd have thought there wasn't enough US boxers to satisfy HBO. Can't see Fwank getting Cleverley involved in this.
if he has the same deal as hennesey where he owns the UK rights the the tournment and he guarentees 7 world title fights for BN.
