He boxes pretty well tbh, but he spoils too much

What is that supposed to mean? I chose not to post round by round so I could focus and enjoy the fight, then posted my card and thoughts after.

That's the punch, Kovalev was out on his feet.

 

Paulie Malignaggi had Kovalev 1 up before the stoppage wth lol

 

1. I had Ward up my cards.
2. Kovalev was wobbling HARD from a headshot.

You can disagree with the first point, but not the second. It was looking very, very bad for Kovalev.

But that stoppage... I don't know. It did seem like it might have been premature and the blows were too low.

But I kind of suspect Kovalev was looking for an escape. He was turning himself around, wobbling, hanging down... I don't know.

A bad ending, but I just don't think it changed much of anything.

 

I'm American but the Rigo result and now this one calling a KO on a low blow is complete bull****. I wouldn't fight on another US card if I was a foreigner, at least not on a Roc Nation card. It's unbelieveble the level of scumminess these guys get away with, were getting close to peak Don King promotions here.

 

Those shots where he was up against the ropes (after that solid right hand to the Chin) were definitely on the beltline, upon review.

Wish Weeks had given Kovalev a count though.
