    Boxing needs that Tyson or Roy Jones pretty soon.

    Roy Jones?

    He wasn't even a Mega-Star in his prime.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    You realize Jones had several PPV's that didn't even sell 100k buys in his Prime. He was never a draw.

    This might not be the whole reason, but I suspect the ratings drop directly correlates to the drop in cable subscribers. Personally I haven't paid for a fee based channel in over a year and nearly everyone else I know has dropped cable as well. And I'm an old guy....millennials never pay for cable.

    Roy Jones and Tyson today would be billionaire's in today's barren state of boxing, boxing needs an american icon right now and Tyson or him would fill that spot well.

    Lol I'm definitely a demographic. Any ad for Viagra, arthritis, Medicare, and Johnny Carson Show DVD's is directed at me.

    Dropping cable+growth of MMS = HBO lost viewship.

    It's not a good time to assess it. We've only had one of the two big fight periods ie May/Septermber, so the figures don't quite average out the same. You'd have to assess the figures for the past year up to this point. As an example, you have two Canelo fights on 2015, two Wlad fights, two Golovkin etc to drag up the average.

    When people stream fights, of course the TV numbers are down. Is it boxing fault? Or just that people are not buying their cable subscription anymore? Of course that may mean that boxing won't be on HBO anymore, but that might not be because boxing is not popular anymore...

    They are well aware of the streaming situation but seem not to care. The biggest example of a B level guy embracing the future is Adrien Broner. He took his show and put it online to connect with "his" audience and it works. Millions of views every fight and he always sells out shows. Has never really faced a solid A level opponent but has star power.

    You must be cracked. Salido vs Vargas was on HBO and Frampton vs Santa Cruz was on Showtime. PBC has had Thurman vs Porter but that only puts them on a similar level as the other two. And for PBC having all the best fighters they don't have anyone who's at the top of their division. HBO has Klitschko, Kovalev, Ward, Golovkin, Canelo, Crawford, Lomachenko, Gonzalez, etc. Haymon has the biggest stable but he doesn't have the best fighters. Also, PBC is an inferior product compared to HBO or Showtime, but better than the ESPN Friday Night Fights it replaced. Mayweather represented everything that was wrong with boxing and retiring was the finest thing he ever did for the sport. You ought to have your head examined.
